I have nothing but the highest praise for Barbara and Heidi and Wanda andother staff the staff at the front desk, and for Jayne, who is in charge of classes and of giving advice to those of us who want to take a new class. I appreciate the fact that trainers are available to help newcomers and or people who are wanting to try a new system or workout regime. They very cheerfully and professionally assist. It is also very helpful for those of us who cannot come to the gym on a regular basis to have access to the virtual programs and even the videos which enable us to practice things like tai chi steps in between classes. Bravo to the Greenfield Y And thanks!

The Franklin County Y is an invaluable resource, not just for working out but for other community programs too. Excellent classes, great scholarship program, and lots of community involvement beyond offering gym space. No, this Y isn’t the fanciest—it doesn’t have new, trendy machines—but it doesn’t need to. The machines they do have are reliable. When they are out of order, they are labeled clearly. They have ample pool hours for working out on top of family swim and aquatics classes. The pool isn’t massive, but it’s well maintained. Parking availability is decent in the lot out back, less available out front on Main St but still very possible to find a spot that is close enough. A dedicated accessible parking lot is a plus. That said, giving four stars because there are some areas for improvement (that don’t impact my overall appreciation). Most notably, the building isn’t very accessible for those with mobility challenges and it is a bit of a labyrinth (but I will say they make do with the building they have and CLEAR effort has been put in to make this Y as accessible as possible). I do wish a little more attention to detail in the cleaning of certain spaces was obvious. In the small, alternative gym room machines are prone to collecting dust. The locker rooms (including the Mens Prime) could go for a more thorough clean, particularly the carpeted areas. The steam room is an amazing addition, but sad to have it behind an additional pay barrier AND have some water damage developing on the interior infrastructure (the ceiling, specifically). I wish soap was provided in both locker rooms & that the water fountains weren’t just for refilling water bottles. Ultimately, well worth the value with some growing edges.

I LOVE THE KINDNESS AND SMILING STAFF AT THE WELCOMING CENTER THEY ARE ALWAYS SO WELCOMING AND COMFORTING THEY HAVE HELPED ME ON MY PATH OF LOOSING WEIGHT AND TACKLING THE WEIGHT LOSS IM DOWN ALMOST 100 LBS SO THANK YOU YMCA FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME

Love this facility! I have taken dance classes with all the instructors and they are all amazing. They all have different styles but each are a great work out. I also took a cycling class with Paul as he subbed the other day and he was very energetic and friendly!

Just took a SHiNE class with Julia. Absolutely amazing. So much energy and fun. The entire class just made me smile and sing the whole time. Highly recommend checking it out!
