This is by far one of my most favorite camping experiences I’ve ever had. Not only is the place absolutely breathtaking with a beautiful lake that the sun sets over each night, but the amount of facilities available to use was amazing! The cabins are very clean and equipped with heating/AC so there’s less time worrying about staying comfy and more time spent having fun! The bathrooms both inside the cabin and around the campgrounds were all very clean, well lit, and most importantly— bug free! There is genuinely so much to do at this camp grounds that there is no way to be bored at this place. The amount of trails, crafts rooms, and outdoor equipment available made it impossible to not have something to do. There was also something for *everyone* which was really awesome, if you didn’t want to do an activity, there’s always something else to do ranging from disconnecting from the world and going on a long hike to plugging back in and playing games in the dining hall. The real star of the show though were the staff. They were so friendly and welcoming that it truly felt like they were family. The staff here provided us with delicious meals and set up all of our events, lit our fires, and made sure we were safe for all of it! Not once was I afraid or scared to try something new (did I mention you can rock climb and jump off a telephone pole?), I knew I was in safe and knowledgeable hands! Definitely will be returning in the future. Please keep up the great work you do!
Camp Willson is an amazing place for kids to explore. Kyle and his staff were amazing. I was able to experience the park with the sixth grade class from Fostoria as a chaperone. I would gladly chaperone again and recommend Camp Willson.
We picked our son up from camp on Friday. A live BAT emerged from his luggage bag after bringing it inside the house. I get it, weird stuff happens.. but it doesn't stop there... Additionally, we observed a bed bug crawl out of the luggage bag and found several more within the clothing inside. I sent them an email several days ago and have not gotten a response.
I visited camp Wilson towards the end of fall last year and I had such a good time! The staff was really sweet and friendly, was even surprised to see Melk joining in on the festivities! She especially was a great representative of the YMCA staff, always caring for our needs and making sure we ran smoothly as possible with what the camp had to offer. I can't wait to come back again ❤️
I’m not sure if the people on these comments are PAID to say these nice things. But let me give you an HONEST review. My child is there RIGHT now with school. How uncoordinated can you get?? They planned this MONTHS ahead of time. They kids get there and not only was there not enough food for everyone… but the food that was available, they were just allowing other schools to come into our schools area and get their food! No communication or accountability at all. The staff act like they have zero idea what they’re doing. You pay 125 dollars for my child to go , well she said it’s below average and definitely not worth that much. My 4 year old went today as well, paid 35 for her to go, just for them to do 2 measly “hikes” through a wooded area consisting of sticks and run down trees. They were given duct tape to put around their wrist to collect GRASS samples they liked. ARE YOU FORREAL? Please tell me yall are making this up. This place is a SCAM. These reviews are bogus!!!!! Save your money and go somewhere nicer. This place needs shut down ASAP.
