What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise the YMCA Ayrlawn Children's Center for its loving, caring staff who create a welcoming environment where children are excited to attend. The preschool program is particularly highlighted as excellent preparation for elementary school, with children developing strong friendships and receiving strong teacher support. A few parents noted that summer camps and sports programs may appear disorganized, though this did not detract from the quality of the core preschool program.
My son has been in daycare since he was 21 months and at our old daycare he cried every morning for 6 months. Once we moved him here he has actually been excited to go to daycare every morning. The people here are soooooo loving, friendly and helpful. We are so blessed to have them. They feel like family.
I can only speak to the preschool but my daughter has had such a wonderful experience there. I am so grateful for the friendships she has developed and the love and support she has received from her teachers.
Completely disorganized place as far as summer camp is concerned. I had bad experience twice this year and once last year at ymca ayrlawn center with my son who was enrolled in mini traditional camp. Today, despite my signing up for his Friday pizza lunch, he was not given a single slice only because he ended up sitting in the wrong class due to the counselor Mr Robert who put him in a class until his actual class came back from swimming. Since the class did not find his signed pizza form they did not offer him a slice! This is unacceptable and because they put him in a wrong class and did not bother to shift him on time for pizza and find his form he was denied lunch! Cannot imagine how these trained counselors can deny a kid a slice of pizza and keep him hungry just because his form was not found! Last year he got hurt while in the camp and there was no incident report or any notification from any counselor why and how he got hurt until I saw his t shirt with blood on it and spoke to them next day and complained and then got them to call me with an explanation. They have way too many kids and classes than they can handle and therefore so much disorganization and such a careless attitude overall!
Great pre-school program. Camps / sports are fine but can appear disorganized. Don't let the impression from summer camp or sports programs deter from considering the pre-k. Ayrlawn prepared my children very well for Wyngate.
The main place I've wandered around anxiously/contemplatively during the pandemic. Hope they don't cut down the woods for an elementary school.
