What Parents Say
YMCA Adventure Zone receives overwhelmingly positive feedback with parents praising the clean, well-maintained facility and friendly, helpful staff. The center offers various amenities including pools, gym, sauna, and steam room. Some concerns have been raised about limited pool hours and scheduling accuracy.
Arrived at the front desk at 5:30 with my family to get a quick tour. Two girls sitting at the front desk talking and no other members in sight. Once we were finally acknowledged I was told the guy who does the tours already left so I would have to come back Monday-Friday between 8 and 5. If that’s true, it’s really inconvenient for anyone who works typical hours and wants a tour before handing over the membership and sign up fee. I’m not even put off by that, because maybe they both had to stay at the front desk or something idk, but the way I was being spoken too had me feeling like an inconvenience to them. I would strongly suggest having more pleasant people as the first point of contact because we’ll be looking for a different place to go. Really disappointing.
Went for the first time about a week ago . The place looks like a 5 star hotel and it’s clean . Considering becoming a member.
Really need to review your schedule for the pool. Closes at 1pm on Saturday. DURING SUMMER TIME. Make that make sense. Cant get the handful of teenagers you have as lifeguards to come in? Maybe look into hiring one of the many ADULT staff who do VERY LITTLE. Cannot count the amount of times I've come in to see people behind the desk watching movies, talking on their cells, or having nonwork conversations with other coworkers. Yall don't even have a climbing instructor for the dope wall. And without and instructor, NO ONE can climb. Get on the ball. DO BETTER.
I love the YMCA but the hours suck. They close at 8pm but have the option of being open later. I believe they should stay open until at least 9pm. At 7:45pm they are cutting lights off and pushing people out. The night staff likes to walk out right at 8pm. It is a major inconvenience. I hate that every late YMCA is located in Raleigh.
Not worth the bother of joining, Summer is just overrun with kids whose parents dump them at the "Y" to use as daycare. Front desk not helpful, weird vibe in the men's locker room is a bit strange, Although it's very clean but definitely a strange enviro. The kicker is when you cancel your membership, they'll charge you 1 extra month's fees for cancelation as it's in the small print on the contract so that's the perfect way for a business to leave a bad taste in a customer's mouth on the way out the door.
