I love it. They are quite resourceful and sweet. Yells offer FREE after school childcare for Franklin Gateway residents. They're always hosting or co hosting events for the kids. They also have a community cafe where you can use computers and be served by high schoolers.
This is a great community center for kids, teens and adults. Staff and volunteer system work well to provide tutoring and after school support for families in the area, as well as meaningful, empowering activities and training for teens. I love how a space is being created for locals to serve their community and where the culture is for everyone to be able to contribute.
Listen, Linda, Listen!!!! If you are living on Franklin Gateway and haven't taken advantage of this program, SHAME ON YOU!! This program is awesome and I can't give them enough stars or praises for what they are doing in the community and for the kids! They are focused on and believe in the kids that they teach! They believe in unity and involvement of the parents as well. They have academic activities and games that encourages your child to succeed. My daughter Mikayla has always been a good student with good grades, but once we were involved in YELLS, she was an even better student with amazing grades. I love the staff there and I wish there were more programs like it, especially where I've relocated back to. I miss the staff and program itself! I also love how they include us parents in everything that they do. It's true that it takes a village to raise a child and I am fortunate enough to have e experienced the most awesome village there is; one who believes in my child, believes that she can be whatever it is she likes, and provides her with the tool she needs to get there! I love you guys at YELLS!! And if someone there is reading this review, Mikayla misses u all! π
As a former Community Association Member/VP here on Franklin Gateway, I watched and volunteered in this program from ground up. It is an amazing and quite the benefit of the future, our children.
