Have had a wonderful experience with Dwell. The community here is welcoming and warm to all. You will find no worship music during teaching, which I actually enjoy, but can be a turn off for some I understand. The kids programs are amazing and our two years attending vacation bible school here have been a fantastic experience!
I was visiting my son one weekend and went to a service with him and his wife. I LOVED the teaching!! I wish I could find one that teaches for an hour with no announcements, and no singing for 30 min. After the sermon there was a Q & A session for about 15 or so minutes about the sermon. Never ever I ever been to a church like that. This may be considered a cult but I loved the Bible teachings and format they use. I wish I could find one where I live.
It's not that there's no truth taught here, but there are lots of spiritual landmines and you are very likely to step on at least some of them. I personally didn't experience the control or manipulation some have claimed, nor did I witness drunkenness. Still, I believe there are better choices.
I went to a Bible study in galena w leaders named Patty & Kim. The leaders & others were drinking a lot & then driving home. I asked if they could cut back on the 90 proof bourbon because I have been devastated in the past by a drunk driver & Patty told me, “we’re no different than a bar!” (That’s an exact quote, I kid you not!) It was also very clicky. No one ever even asked for my number or invited me anywhere. They mostly drank amongst themselves a lot & talked about their cell groups or retreats which I was never invited to - almost everyone was drunk so that’s probably why.
Yes I just called that I used to speak with the pastor and the Lady Katie was being real rude she asked me what I need to speak with him for because they don't just connect people to pastors and if this is how you guys run your church then I would never want to try to visit their people are going through a lot of things and if to speak with a pastor they should at least be able to write your name down and have someone to give you a call back she didn't even give me that option
