I have experience about this daycare for 6 month. Toddler class is OK. But Preschool is worse all the time. They don't pass messages between teachers. If I ask something at the end of the day, most of the time they say "I'm not sure. I need ask other teacher who already worked at morning time" Potty Training: They are saying that they train kids. But never do unless you follow each day. Basically, I have noticed that don't keep attention about kids. Activities: Toddler class teachers have done pretty much good work for activities. But after we moved to preschool nothing done as activities. My son just spent time. Updates: Toddler class gives daily updates as a sheet. but preschool gives weekly updates. But most of the time they didn't give. sometime evening teacher told me that " I couldn't get from morning teacher" or we were busy in this week Front Desk: Front desk ladies were horrible. Manager think that this is kind of free service. Never give good feedback. Why I choose: Once I noticed these I transferred my son for different one. but I don't recommend for anybody. Specially WMU students think that this is good place and convenient as this is close to campus. But as a parent don't think about your convenience always think about your kid. So I don't recommend this place for anybody.
The best public preschool I've seen in Kalamazoo. They are up to date on best practices and deeply care about their students. I am here a lot and unlike the other reviewers, I've never seen kids mistreated. The staff is professional and courteous. Thank you!
I noticed on more than on occasion that staff yelled at the toddlers as they played outside- not just shouting, but just blatantly rude towards the children (demanding they do things, not considerate of the children's feelings, pretty much authoritative). I kept my eye on it as I walked to class, as I was considering it for my son. However, they clearly do not use positive discipline, nor respect the whole child so I will be looking elsewhere.
