What Parents Say
This listing appears to be for Wilson College rather than a child care center. Reviews are mixed, with most praising the college's beautiful 300-acre campus, small class sizes, and resources, though one applicant had a negative experience with the graduate program application process.
Applied for their occupational therapy program who had a disorganized, unclear application process. For months they had me getting extra letters of recommendation and made me do a video interview that took weeks to resolve the technical issues on their end. A day later , they send me a denial letter. They also didnt tell me until after all this, that they were missing a transcript for 1 class, and that’s why i wasn’t further considered. Never dealt with a school wasting my time like this. Check their hefty tuition cost as well; student loans will NOT cover this.
If you're considering Wilson College for your child, especially as a family relying on equity, inclusion, or parent support programs, I strongly urge you to reconsider. As a single mother in their Parent Scholars Program, I was abruptly removed from campus housing—despite meeting the same qualifications as other student-parents who were allowed to stay. My removal caused immediate housing insecurity, educational disruption, and jeopardized my child’s access to necessary medical care. Meanwhile, another student, prominently featured in their marketing materials and social media to demonstrate “diversity,” was offered preferential treatment. This kind of selective enforcement raises serious questions about the role of performative affirmative action over fair and consistent policy enforcement. Wilson College’s leadership failed to act ethically. I am in the process of publishing a memoir detailing my experience—backed by documentation and institution correspondence—and will be sharing it publicly in the near future. If you are a parent or prospective student considering Wilson College, I strongly urge you to do your research and ask difficult questions about how this institution treats its students beyond the surface-level marketing.
I had the privilege of attending my bachelor's degree, graduation ceremony, and certification before the pandemic. Has a fantastic John Stewart Memorial Library, Fulton farm, soccer field, and conference buildings for work study & internships like the Hankey Center or the Magill House (5 stars, perfections & imperfections included. Nothing replaces the traditional college experience.) {Sidenote: commuting is probably better to do if you live within a 25 mile radius from campus.} Post-pandemic, the vitual timeframe my master's degree feels little rushed, but adequate and satisfying to say the least. Though I think it would be good to have more hybrid or traditional scheduling, it's nice being able to communicate with professors & peers virtually and learn soft skills that can essential prepare me for the current professional, ever-changing, business world. (4 stars)
Beautiful campus. If you are looking for a smaller school then you want to check out Wilson.
I spent some time considering if and how I would continue my education. I have an educational background in a highly technical field that I studied to ensure my financial success. I achieved a degree of success in that regard, but could not escape the feeling that I lacked a well-rounded perspective. After touring the beautiful campus grounds in Chambersburg I decided to further my education by pursuing the study of liberal arts as a non-traditional-student. Another thing that appealed to me was the tuition. I could afford to study for a semester with just a few weeks worth of my own labor! I decided to enroll. Unfortunately, I have to tell you that my semester did not go according to plan. On two occasions I was escorted off campus by security. Both times I informed them that I was a student and presented my Campus ID. After each occasion, I would inform the administration of what transpired, but they offered no explanation. I could not fight the feeling of being unwelcome in this place and lost the desire to continue my education here. I hope your experience here will be better than mine, and I must let you know my opinion: the Govermen should have no right to tell young men what they can put up their body.
