I’m honestly amazed there aren’t more absolutely glowing reviews about Wildflower. Our 4.5-year-old twin boys attend, and the staff is nothing short of incredible! (Although—let’s be real—parents are busy, so I get it.) We originally planned to place our boys in separate classrooms, but after thoughtful conversations with the director, Amy, we chose to keep them together this year. Just a few months in, we’ve watched them flourish—socially, emotionally, and academically. Their confidence, motor and physical skills, as well as social and conceptual understanding have grown in ways that are really incredible to witness. Suffice it to say, they were ready to be in an environment like Wildflower. Amy is wonderfully dedicated and takes the time to listen. She makes sure each child is placed in a classroom where the teachers’ strengths and personalities will support their growth. As a first-time mom navigating pre-K, I felt heard and supported throughout the process, even all of the ins and outs of the paperwork. Our boys are very loving and friendly, and—like many kids who spent their early years mostly at home—they were a bit shy and overwhelmed at the start. The staff handled their transition with patience and care. They helped our energetic (and sensitive!) kids settle into routines, find the right rest strategies (even though napping is…not their thing most of the time), and get all the playtime they need. My boys are the ones running laps after their thirty minutes of quiet time, and it’s such a relief knowing their energy is embraced and well-directed to positive activities. They sleep well at night having had fun days with loving teachers and friends. The teachers at Wildflower really are phenomenal. Our boys know every teacher and assistant by name, and you can feel the genuine relationships and trust they’ve built. Their main teachers—Mr. Tyler and Miss Diana—are absolute gems, and they also adore Mr. Al, Miss Amy, Miss Shea, Miss Bee, and so many others. The teamwork and warmth across the whole staff is evident. I see teachers supporting conflict-resolution in positive ways that are patient and understanding of this age-range and development. The school size is perfect: three sweet classrooms with just the right amount of connection between groups. Parents are warmly welcomed to volunteer, and the school hosts fun, low-stress community events like a BBQ night and trunk-or-treat to bring families together. Wildflower also sprinkles in just the right amount of excitement—bike/scooter day, pajama day, pancake day—fun for the kids without overwhelming anyone. Outdoor play is a big part of their day, and our boys love exploring nature (building the “stick house” by the big tree is a favorite), playing “soccer,” and learning active games. Classrooms are tidy, colorful, and thoughtfully maintained, and staff clean these spaces thoroughly while the kids are outside at the end of the day before pickup. Communication has also been fantastic. Each class has its curriculum outline emailed to parents, and we get photos both through the Brightwheel app and on a private school account. The photos taken by Amy’s husband, Tony—who is a professional photographer—are honestly frame-worthy. We had no idea we’d get such beautiful memories of pumpkin patch visits and other special events! Lastly, the Brightwheel app makes everyday communication so easy and it is well-administered by teachers. Quick updates, photos, and any notes about your child’s day are right there, and the teachers respond quickly and kindly whenever something needs attention. We have been so impressed with Wildflower. Our boys are thriving, and we truly feel part of a caring, connected school community. I wholeheartedly recommend Wildflower to any parent looking for a place where their child will be nurtured, supported, and genuinely appreciated.

This is a second location which actually shares space with the New Church of Boulder Valley, but are NOT affiliated with the church. Our daughter is currently attending Pre-K at this location and we could not be happier. She attended preschool at another school from January-May and it was a complete disaster. The entire staff at this location and the owner/headmistress, Amy, have been simply amazing. I just can not say enough great things about them. For example, we went to pick our daughter up the other day and they were playing outside. My daughter was a little sad to leave and wanted to keep eating the pears off of the tree in the play area. Recognizing this, one of the teachers (unprompted) suggested that they have a picnic lunch the next day when she returned. My daughter was so excited, that it changed her entire demeanor and gave her something to look forward to. They actually followed through with it the next day. It is that type of mindfulness (and many other examples) that gives us peace of mind and reinforces that we made the right decision. The preschool and pre k rooms are set up in a very fun and open manner. There are many stations from the children to choose from, including sensory tables, dress up, blocks, train tracks, etc. They have a great system in pre-k where they have each of the children's pictures on a card. Each station has a limited number of children allowed at any given time. So if, say the block station has four children already (four cards with their pictures on them on the list of activities on the wall) then the child understands that they must choose a different activity until a space opens up. It really gives the children ownership of their activities. Every day that we have picked our daughter up she has said she loves it. (Although she is typically exhausted by the time she leaves) They do allow children to take naps if they need it, and will respect your wishes if you choose not to have them nap. We leave it up to how our daughter is feeling since she does not typically take a nap at home. Although she has already taken a couple naps at school already. They really encourage crafting and artistic time. Today when I picked my daughter up I found out they were learning about how different marker's ink diffuses in water. (Very cool) They are not overly strict or structured to the point our daughter has a hard time transitioning from activity to activity. Although they do have a schedule that they use throughout the day to ensure the children are learning and busy throughout the day. In her last school, my daughter was on such a rigid schedule that she would melt down because she couldn't handle it. If your child is having a hard time, they have a quiet space within the room for them to get away for a bit and calm themselves down. Anyway, this school and all of the teachers we have met have been simply amazing. You will not regret having your child attend Wildflower.
