What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Weston Learning Academy for its nurturing, family-oriented environment and dedicated staff who genuinely care for the children. The facility maintains small class sizes, strong teacher-to-student ratios, and a structured curriculum with daily communication via app that keeps parents informed and involved. Children reportedly thrive academically and socially while forming strong bonds with teachers and peers.
My son started going to WLA in August of 2024 at about 15 months old. Prior to that I had him at home with me full time, so I was very apprehensive about sending him. From the very first tour and every communication interaction from then on, Mrs. Dolores made me feel understood and comfortable and confident in sending my son there. Over the past year, I have never once regretted our decision. My son has learned so much, both English and Spanish, and is constantly surprising me by things he knows! Every day we get a daily report and pictures through an app and are easily able to communicate back and forth with staff via app, email, phone or in person. Now that my son is older we look through the pictures from the day together and he is able to share his friend’s names, the songs they’re singing and the books and activities they’re participating in. The school also is always doing fun activities and parties and things to keep parents involved, which is so fun! For every holiday they go above and beyond to decorate the front entrance and provide the sweetest keepsakes for parents. I love that I always know what’s going on at school and what they are learning each week so we can talk about it at home. My son loves everyone at WLA, but of course he especially loves his teachers. Ms. Ana and Ms. Luz have been nothing short of amazing! We’ve been so lucky to have them! It’s so great to see how much he loves them and how much they really care about him in return. The class size is relatively small, which we’ve appreciated. We’ve gotten to know other parents through pick up and drop off and have built the best little community through WLA. As a mom who was very nervous about sending her first baby to school, I highly highly recommend WLA and would choose them over and over again every single time. Thank you to all of the WLA staff for making my son’s daycare feel more like a home away from home for him and our family.
I wanted to wait until our journey with WLA was over in order to write this review; but I figured that there are probably some parents looking through preschools and weighing out options so perhaps this review could be some help to them. We started our little girl there when she was just one. You could imagine how nervous we were to put the care of our baby in the hands of strangers. And writing the word “strangers” feels weird now because everyone there has become an extended family. We also researched other daycares to compare. It’s difficult especially when they are young because they have no verbal communication. However, we had our baby for one week elsewhere and she didn’t need to speak for us to know she was unhappy. Her face when we picked her up looked as if she was traumatized. I still carry guilt with me to this day but then again we had no idea as first time parents. Of course cost is a big factor that plays out when choosing a daycare. But when it comes to childcare we realized how important it is to provide the best environment, with loving and nurturing staff, who also promote independence and curiosity in your little one. You cannot put a price tag on that. The difference in her facial expressions when I picked her up from school said it all! Of course the first couple of mornings at drop off she cried but the staff called to check in with me to let me know everything was going great. Not only are they taking care of my baby girl, but they are also taking care of me and making sure I’m okay. The peace of mind that I get from WLA has no value. Now our baby girl is about to begin VPK4. There’s one 30 seconds from our house which of course would be more convenient. But it hasn’t once crossed my mind to take her out of WLA. She looks forward to going to school every day to see her best friends. And I too look forward to picking her up to listen to all the stories and hearing what she learned that day. So if you’re a parent looking to start for your baby: They are very strict on important things such as food allergies, no glass, monitoring fevers, etc. Also, you will get a phone call to pick up your child if they are sick or have a fever. It can be annoying at times because we have to leave work but I can tell you we have a sickness come home maybe once every 3 months which I’ve heard is pretty good. I have coworkers who have runny nose a boogers every other week! They notify you if any occurrences happen such as someone bit your child or vise versa (which can happen anywhere). My child got bit and there was no mark, bruise, or anything! But I’m grateful for their honesty. They have an application where they share time stamps throughout the entire day. -Diaper change stating #1, #2, both. -How long they slept -How much they ate -Any new likes, interests since they are starting to explore. And if you’re a parent of a child ready for VPK (I’ve done the research already): -WLA is a little pricier than many other VPK programs in the area. But no other school matches their teacher to student ratios. -This is more of a school than a daycare. They have an actual curriculum. They have themed weeks. They are very inclusive of all holidays. They have a few interactive festivities where parents can be present such as Halloween/spring (Easter). - They also share pictures and updates daily in the application The list could go on and on! I’m sure I missed plenty of things because there are just too many. But I can’t highlight the staff enough. Everyone is super receptive of any questions/concerns. Now we have another baby who is ready to begin her journey at WLA. Selfish me wants to stay home with her because I’m enjoying her so much. We have a blast at home. But seeing how much our older daughter excelled once we started her in WLA also makes me want to give our younger one the same opportunity. Within the first 2 months her social skills, independence, even fine motor skills was unbelievable! She also had a set schedule which in turn helped us organize our home life. Do it for your baby!
Weston Learning Academy is my daughter's favorite place!! Getting ready to school everyday is the best moment of the day to her!! Mrs. Heymar is the best principal/director I had ever met, her gentleness, kindness and empathy are amazing!! And her love for our kids is priceless, she is always waiting for her kids with the same smile every single day!! The best place in Weston to begin with our little ones! The school is so clean and neat!! They have an excellent curriculum and the way they teach kids is wonderful! Communication with parents is great, they really make us feel like a family! LOVE IT!!
Weston Learning Academy has been the PreSchool of my daughter for the last 2+ years and the experience has been just outstanding. Every teacher she has had has been lovely and kind and I can say the same with the rest of the staff. Academically is very good, I could see how much my daughter learnt and the results are excellent, but at the same they gave much love to her, allowing it to be her second home. I just have positive things to say about Weston Learning Academy and I will always be grateful about the amazing experience they gave to my daughter.
My sons have been attending this school since they were 1.5 years old and we have loved it. My son graduated VPK from Mrs. Aleyda’s class and she is the most dedicated teacher I have ever met! She is amazing at teaching the kids and caring for them at the same time. We will miss her as we transition to a new school. The owner is a great communicator and cares for the students. The new director is great as well. We have been very pleased during our time at WLA. Recommend without reservations.
