Wesley Lakes Academy

Piggybacking off of my partner’s review. This place is not great if you want your children to thrive and develop. They do a good job at making it seem like the kids are getting a great experience but they are not. If you stay and you watch long enough you can see through the facade and realize how horrible this daycare actually is. I even overheard one teacher call a child a name that was unprofessional and she got flustered when she saw I noticed. Just imagine how they treat them when no parents are around. 1 ⭐️

One of my kids used to attend this “preschool.” Before I picked them up I would sit and observe the classroom before entering and most (not all) the teachers were unorganized and ill-equipped with running the classroom. Kids are not wiped off when they are changed in most cases. They hardly learn. Every time I picked him up there was a tv on. Whether it was early in the day for an appointment (he was watching the tv) or in the afternoon/evening( he was watching the tv). No structure and just pure laziness. Again this wasn’t the case with everyone, as I could tell with some teachers (maybe 2-3) they handled the kids well and actually put in effort. But that was rare. So please reconsider before bringing your child here. It could be worse, but it could be A LOT better. I also couldn’t help but notice that there are a few reviews under here made by the staff. How misleading.

Wesley Lakes Academy has truly been a Godsend! My kids have been in their care for about two years while I work, and we absolutely love it here. The teachers and admin staff are always welcoming, greeting my kids with a smile every single day. My children come home happy, excited, and eager to share what they learned. Wesley Lakes is so much more than just childcare—it’s family. The BEST daycare in GA!

The staff appears to be extremely pleasant and nice . Tonya is very friendly . My 1 year old never started . I had two major concerns after observing in the classroom. 1. There’s a major lack of diversity in teachers and staff with classrooms full of black children . 2. Hygiene in the classroom: There was about 6 children in the busy 1 year old classroom with very snotty noses running down to their chin. Understandable, but I didn’t seen any Kleenex, Lysol wipes, spray or anything . My daughter came to observe the classroom on Friday, and the sick children ran up to her and were coughing directly in her face with zero redirection from the teachers to teach them to cover their mouth or anything . By Sunday, my daughter was just as sick as the kids with snotty noses running down to their chin. It didn’t appear that their noses had been wiped , at all, all day. The second thing I saw in a 10 min observation was a teacher changing a diaper while the infant was standing up. I do not think you can properly clean a diapered baby while standing to get in the crevasses. I didn’t see her wiping the child, at all. These things were too concerning for my daughter to start. I do think that they are friendly staff but overall just didn’t meet the standards for me to trust my daughter was being cared for like I would like her to be.

The BEST daycare in McDonough! My son has been attending this daycare for SEVERAL years and I have not had 1 complaint. He comes home happy and talks about his teachers and friends everyday. He has learned so much while at Wesley Lakes Academy. The staff treats the children like their own and you can tell it's GENUINE. I would highly recommend this daycare!! I wish I could give this facility 10 stars because I would! Thank you to the entire Wesley Lakes Academy Family for making it EASY for me to leave my son in your care!
