What Parents Say
Wee Care Child Care Center in Ridgeland receives mixed reviews. Multiple parents praise the caring staff, safe environment, and strong communication, particularly for children with special needs. However, several parents reported serious concerns including staff being dismissive of injuries, unexplained marks on children, defensive behavior after complaints, and inadequate health protocols during COVID outbreaks.
Mrs Liz is a great staff at front desk. Some teacher in back hollering at kids as their parents is a no no. Once I realized that I decided to go walk to back to check on my child. She was hollering up to her lungs, I ask the teacher what’s wrong with my baby. I know she will cry but that’s not like her, She hump her shoulders & said she don’t know. Immediately grab my baby from her & went & withdraw her. How is you in a role that you don’t know or care for kids. Out of order
When we moved to Mississippi, we had to quickly find childcare. After touring several places we had looked at this facility and thought that it was very clean, open, largely staffed, in a great location compared to where we lived, etc. We had enrolled my child and felt comfortable that they would be looked after while we both worked full-time. About 4 or 5 months later, after I picked up my child from the daycare I was giving them a bath, like I did every night. I observed several large, red markings all over my child's chest, sides, back. We took pictures and showed my husband. I immediately called the facility and left a voicemail for the director; by this time the facility had closed for the day. The next morning when I went to drop off my child, I waited in the director's office until she had arrived to speak with her about what I'd found. I showed her pictures and she appeared absolutely shocked, concerned and even stated that one of the large red markings on my child's chest and left side looked like a handprint. I told her that I was concerned about leaving for work and allowing my child to be in the same environment that caused these mysterious markings. She assured me that everything would be fine and she would look into it and keep a close eye to make sure that my child was safe. From that day on for the rest of the week, the entire staff when we would talk to or greet them were cold, passive aggressive, or just nonverbal. My husband and I were made to feel like we had did something wrong and all we did was report these red marks on our child's body. One day while I was picking up my child I had talked to the caregiver that was monitoring my child's room that day and she said maybe the red markings came from my child getting wedged in between a bookcase and there was a loose nail behind it. I then told the caregiver that the markings did not match being scratched by a loose nail and also if any large furniture is able to be moved by a 15-month-old that presents a non-safe environment for the kids. My husband and I made the decision to pull my child soon after that after we had shared with each other the unfriendly encounters from the staff since reporting the red markings. We felt like the attitude from all of the staff, including the director, after reporting the markings put our child's safety at risk. We had to wait two weeks per the daycare's policy otherwise we would have had to pay a large fee which we couldn't afford. Pulling my child out of this day care was the best decision we had made. I understand that daycare and childcare is very hard to come by and it's very expensive. I urge you to look elsewhere besides this facility. The staff did not care and became defensive when we just simply stated that our child had red markings on their body. It takes one mistake for a child to get very seriously injured or worse, I do not believe this facility takes the appropriate measures to ensure that no mistakes like that happen. And even if those mistakes or concerns are reported the staff become very defensive and not willing to help. If you love your babies, please look elsewhere.
where do I even begin? I have a 1 year old child that has been attending this day care since 10 months old and I have had NUMEROUS problems with them. They don’t follow my request for my child nor do they communicate well. They also have had more than 1 covid out break, the day care did not close for quarantine. The students nor the teachers are social distanced and they rarely wear mask. Yesterday on 3/23/2021 my child was brought to me with a busted lip and a bloody shirt, and no one could tell me what happened. I set up a meeting and no one showed up except myself and my child’s father. I do not recommend you bring your child to this facility under ANY circumstance. This is not even half of the problems I have had with them.
on monday , september 18th my baby started daycare for the FIRST TIME at Wee Care Daycare In Ridgeland . When I signed him up I explained to them that he had never been to daycare before and if they could work with him because he gone cry . So on the second day of going to daycare , they isolated my baby & punished him for crying by putting him in a crib by hisself and refused to give him his toys that I took with him to school . Her explanation was “she put him in there because he was crying and kept reaching for her!!” MORAL OF THE STORY : Wee Care Learning Center in Ridgeland 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
I love this place. My son has been going for a few months now. He has a lot of specials needs and they go above and beyond what I expected for his care. I had the opportunity to put my son in the head start program for free, but I don’t want to move him from we are because I know he is getting great care where he is! It’s worth every penny in my opinion to keep him where he is, where I know he is loved and cared for! They have cameras set up and every time I tune in I am pleased to see how they care for my son!
