We have been very pleased with our time at Villa Montessori. Our child was not in daycare prior to enrolling here and so we were initially concerned about the adjustment period. We found that the Villa Montessori staff and director went above and beyond to ensue that our child was comfortable and thriving. After almost one year at the school, we have noticed many positive changes in our child and especially her communication and interpersonal skills. Her teacher Ms. Angelica has been great and also very communicative. We also appreciate the school director Kalpana as she has been supportive and wonderful to deal with. Overall we highly recommend Villa Montessori to anyone interested in seeking a quality Montessori school/childcare experience for their child.
Our experience with Villa Montessori has been wonderful, the school director Melissa-Ann has been wonderful to us and our children. Our questions are always answered promptly, via email or in person. Our children have learned so much in the school, both kids started as part time, going three days a week, and now it’s been a few weeks of going 5-days a week, and the level of education has been definitely noticed. Our family doctor has noticed that our children are excelling with their speaking, body language and communication during their assessments. We are very happy with the way Montessori education and Reggio work has helped our children with their daily communication, creativity and imagination. We also know that starting our kids with Villa Montessori will help them achieve higher education now and in the future.
Villa became part of our family for 6 years as both of our boys attended from 18mos to 5.5 years old. We have met some wonderful friends, built bonds with wonderful teachers, learned a lot, and most importantly saw our boys be loved upon. It has been a wonderful journey at Villa Montessori Preschool Leesburg. The wonderful teachers and staff have formed our boys into the smart, loving, and respectful boys they have become. Highly recommend Villa to anyone interested in a Montessori experience for their child.
Sending our son to Villa Montessori is one of the best parenting decisions we've made. We were only there a short time - less than a year - but our son grew by leaps and bounds thanks to their thoughtful approach to teaching and the caring staff. Mrs. Faria and Mrs. Yulian taught him so much, creating a strong foundation for kindergarten by helping our son gain confidence and independence with reading and writing. Mrs. Faria even helped our son grip a pencil correctly when we had tried and failed to do so for months! We are incredibly grateful for our time there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa to any family.
To be very fair my husband and I really loved Villa Montessori when we first enrolled our son at 16 months. We had wonderful interactions with his then teachers, Ms. Ruby and Ms. André, and things were going well. Occasionally, we got bogus calls to pick him up for a runny nose with no fever or because he had loose stool. I also didn’t care for the fact that they’re one of the few daycares that don’t have classroom cameras. But their communication app is good and they post a bunch of great pictures of your kiddo. My son seemed to like the work he did and was pretty interested in the activities they had for him. His sense of independence has flourished! A few weeks/months into his time at VM there was a lot of staff changes and his behavior seemed to change. Once he turned 2yrs he moved up into the next class and suddenly I was getting calls for immediate pick up or reporting poor behavior, signing multiple incident reports, and asked to have meetings almost daily. His teacher all but accused us of pumping him full of junk food (probably judging us because we aren’t little people) after I spent a ton of money on no sugar added, sugar free, dye free, organic snacks! Every meeting ended with the staff asking us if we were having any of the same problems at home, mostly trying to make it sound like we aren’t doing our job, but almost none of the behavior issues at VM translated home. Then we kept hearing the line “we’ve used all the tools in our toolbox and we just don’t really know what else to do”. They admitted to us that they have to scrutinize the behavior in this class more because the other kids are able to tell their parents about what happens in the class… They also had the audacity to speculate that he might have some sort of “processing disorder” making it clear that they can’t “diagnose” him, but that they would help us to find resources to have him evaluated. We did our due diligence and had him evaluated (said nothing about it to VM) and the staff/director kept bringing up getting him evaluated. Upset that they wouldn’t let it rest we finally told the staff that our pediatrician and a psychologist had already evaluated him and there is nothing “wrong” with him. In fact, our psychologist had a lot of questions about what type of facility this was wondering why they couldn’t handle my son. When my son would get into trouble in his classroom he would be taken into the front office with the staff… of course now he’s learned that negative behavior gets him special attention and privileges. I have no qualms with the fact that Villa Montessori puts the safety and well-being of the other students/staff first, but it just seems like they would have rather just kicked him out to get an easier kid in. Like my son wasn’t worth the extra effort for the money I’m paying when they could get the same money and have an easier kid… The red flag from the get-go that I should have considered was when the director commented that this was the first time that the classroom was more heavily dominated by boys. Additionally, after touring and interviewing other daycare facilities, VM is one of the only facilities in the area still shutting down classes left and right for COVID stuff. My husband and I have been out of work and still paying tuition for weeks of class closures. I would say that if you have a more laid back child this facility would be great, but if you have a rowdy child or kiddo with energy it’s probably not for you… So now he was dismissed from the facility, they’re keeping our $1,700 deposit (after we just paid re-enrollment fees last month) and getting to fill the spot of my son from their waiting list. Now we’re out of luck trying to find a new facility with immediate openings.
