I struggled with whether to write this review, but after what recently happened to my child, along with other issues leading up to it, I feel it’s important to share our experience. Recently, my 3-year-old daughter came home with a noticeable bald spot where her hair had been forcibly ripped out. Because of how her hair was styled, it was slightly concealed at first. When I noticed it, I immediately asked her what happened, and she told me a specific boy pulled her hair at school. She also shared that she reported it to her teacher and that was it. No one checked her out nor consoled her, there was no incident report, no notification to me, and no follow-up from the school. She endured a traumatic event and no one cared. This also wasn't the first time an incident went undocumented. I only learned about this by discovering the injury myself. As a parent, that is deeply upsetting and unacceptable. What makes this even more troubling is that it fits into a broader pattern I have experienced here. My daughter has been enrolled for a little over a year, and drop-offs were often difficult. She clearly felt more comfortable with certain teachers than others, and due to frequent staff turnover, those relationships were often disrupted. In hindsight, it’s clear how that lack of consistency may have affected her sense of safety and comfort. The center recently ran a “competition” encouraging parents to leave positive Google reviews. I chose not to participate because I honestly didn’t feel I had much positive to say, and now I’m glad I trusted that instinct. The assistant director who works the front desk is not welcoming. Lead teachers are frequently switched out with absolutely no communication to parents about staffing changes. I have raised concerns about this before and nothing changed. It’s also worth noting that communication is consistent and timely when it comes to parent responsibilities such as payments, added fees, or policy reminders. However, that same level of communication and urgency is not applied when leadership decisions are made that affect the kids. The teachers themselves seem overwhelmed and frustrated, and it often feels like the child-to-teacher ratio is stretched too thin. I don’t blame the teachers. This feels like a systemic and leadership/management issue that directly impacts supervision and quality of care. The childcare industry in this country is already so problematic, and finding safe, high-quality care is incredibly difficult and nerve-racking for parents. What happened to my child at this center has left me heartbroken, disheartened, and even more distrustful of childcare settings in general. I’m sharing this in the hope that other parents ask hard questions, do their research including NCDHHS records, and that this center takes a serious look at communication, supervision, and accountability because our children deserve so much better.
Tutor Time is a place where every child is valued, respected, and treated as if they were the staff's own. Our child has flourished both socially and intellectually, demonstrating a noticeable increase in confidence and curiosity. The teachers are genuinely creative, consistently introducing new and engaging activities and curriculum daily that stimulate learning and fun. The daycare offers excellent special programs, providing unique enrichment opportunities. The Summer Camp is a huge hit, especially the fun and supervised water play! Every single staff member, from management to the lead teachers and the assistants, is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond. Everyone treats each child like the special ones they are. They prioritize parent involvement, making us feel like active partners in our child's development. We must give a shout-out to the kitchen staff! They prepare fantastic, nutritious meals for the children daily. It's wonderful knowing our child is eating wholesome, delicious food every day. We are grateful for the loving, enriching, and safe environment Tutor Time provides. - The Farrell’s
Tutor Time of Concord is the best daycare we’ve been so far, and we’ve been in 4 already because we’ve moving. Staff and teachers are caring with both kids and parents. Our daughter is extremely happy here. She has learnt a lot since she was enrolled, and her communication skills have improved significantly thanks to the way this center applies its program. And what I love a lot is the camera. It’s a piece of relieve that you can connect and see what your kid is doing, both as matter of security and to enjoy seeing them dancing, singing, coloring, eating, sleeping. Definitely recommended.
We love tutor time of Concord! We have had the pleasure of growing through infant A and infant B with the most amazing teachers. They love on my daughter like she is their own. Once my daughter hit 6 months, the thing I was most impressed by is how much her teacher provides them with an educational experience regardless of how little they are. They go on nature walks, have sensory time, read stories in story time every day, and have music time. She prioritizes learning through play and outdoor learning which as a teacher myself I love! We wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Bring your kids!!!!! The staff makes you and your liytle ones feel like family. They have many fun activities for your child to enjoy and there learning development is phenomenal! Chy Chy steals my daughter’s heart everyday🥹.
