What Parents Say
Tundra Tykes receives mostly positive feedback for caring staff, structured curriculum, educational activities, and strong parent communication through daily photo updates. However, one family had a negative experience citing staffing shortages, poor front desk coverage, billing disputes, and their child's distress during the transition.
The staff are so kind and really love the kids. There’s structure to the curriculum. It’s very educational and stimulating. I know my kids are learning every day. The communication from staff is very good as well. They keep parents apprised of upcoming facility closures and other needs. I love the photo updates they send to parents via the KinderCare app throughout the day, as well.
We were very excited to get in. However we only stayed 1.5 months. They still required we payed though dissatisfied with the service. In fact with their 30 day notice policy, I gave 25 days because no one was ever at the desk in the morning and though she only attended two weeks in the month they required I pay for the whole month and the first week of the next month despite being consistently short staffed. We received emails every week about sick staff, confirm attendance. Once the front desk lady Ms. Amber left. Communication became poor and unpleasant otherwise. Kathryn was right out unkind. My daughter cried every morning at drop off and begged me not to leave her there. (She’s now at another school and joyfully attends.) Usually I don’t leave reviews like this, but if you are choosing to pay for this proposed elevated service you should be informed it was not ideal. (Lastly, Mr Senelle was a very kind loving teacher helping to improve her days)
Teachers are great ! I HIGHLY recommend them for child care services. However , working there ? Is the total opposite . Such great people working there , yet SO LITTLE appreciation is shown for them . (By the parents & higher up / supervisors ) Working there is like being a mom more than a teacher. Parents definitely need to show more appreciation, as these employees are basically with their kids as much as the parents are.
The folks here do really care about each child and it's well-run, clean place where the focus is on letting kids be kids, play, have fun, and make friends and healthy relationships. They are also very communicative and transparent with messages from management and good communication from the teachers/caregivers, too. Sure, they struggle with staffing much like any other facility, but at least we know when they are going to have a crunch!
My grandchildren have been very content here. Active, with emphasis on structure aligned with playtime, educational and artistic. Minute attention to detail and caring, loving Providers.
