My daughter goes to the summer sports camp, rec gymnastics, and the after school program. We love this place and my daughter does too. The summer coaches do great keeping the kids busy with swimming, field trips, and going to the park. We are beyond blessed by this place and look forward to seeing my daughter grow up in here.

They seem to have a good amount of equipment, but very lack luster with their recreational class'. Unfortunately, I made the decision to take my toddler out of small fry 'gymnastics' after watching the facility assign young teenagers 'teach' the children. Instead of teaching I saw alot of gossiping/talking among the young 'instructors' and even one get on her phone while watching children as young as 4. It's very sad to see how much attention they give towards their competition teams and the lack of effort towards recreational. Take your money elsewhere.

Review for Rec Gymnastics only - This gym is MILES ahead of another reputable Anchorage gym, in my opinion. Staff at the front desk has been knowledgeable and friendly, and there is a useful parent portal. Most importanly, the coaches I briefly observed seem to be engaging the young gymnasts, correcting them, encouraging them and getting visibly excited when a student succeeds at something they struggled to get. There even seems to be some sort of formal testing schedule to keep track of rec gymnasts' progress (total shocker for me as I never even had any idea of whether my daughter is truly any "good" at gymnastics at all after a year at another gym as she or I heard ZERO feedback ).I moved my 6 year old here out of desperation as she has been challenging herself more at a school playground than at the old gym, and it has been by far the best decision we made all year. So far my kid has been at AGA Rec for only 1 month and the difference it made is significant - finally she is COACHED and gets to do new things that are fun for her. Huge shoutout to coaches Leah and Ned for this and to the owners who hire such professional staff. ETA: my child ended taking classes here October -May, Rec 2 and 3. Then we moved out of state and she joined a team and had a fantastic season, and I still credit a ton of that success to AGA as she literally almost quit rec after wasting so much time at another gym where no one seemed to care. Maybe it's luck and there are good and bad coaches everywhere but I watched dozens of practices at AGA and never saw anything outrageous. I even observed an 8-10 year old rec kiddo throw a massive screaming fit and everyone handled it as well as humanly possible. Keep up the good work, guys!

AGA has been a great place and environment for our child to grow and learn. They did an excellent job preparing our child for Kindergarten with their Pre-K and Pre-school programs. The staff and teachers are an absolute pleasure to deal and speak with. I would highly recommend them, it is also a great plus that the facility is family run and it shows!

Our child was enrolled for the 'Small Fry' class and upon her first day she spent the first half of her class doing what could only be referred to as 'free play' instructed by a middle schooler (owner's daughter) and not given any technical instruction. The two adolescent instructors spent the entire time gossiping. The second half of class the other adolescent instructor took the kids to the floor and began two lines of backwards somersaults one of which was unassisted and there was no spotter. This was alarming as these kids are very young and doing such a maneuver unassisted seems very precarious. The kids were struggling on their own and there was no order, it was chaotic. We respectfully inquired about a cancellation explaining that the class was not what we were looking for (technical instruction for gymnastics) and respectfully requested a refund to which the owner was curt and unprofessional and told me that they were unable to refund me and they "will be moving onto the next person". :/ its a roll of the dice with this one - you've been warned.
