The staff is really great. I’ve never seen a better daycare. Each of the teachers know every single one of the children. Our son runs into the facility because he can’t wait to start the day there. Some if the staff has been there 25 years, this shows they have a vested interest in success for the children.
Updating my review to one star. If you do decide to take your child to the daycare make sure you only communicate with Wendy. This is the second time another employee told my partner and I something that apparently Wendy is in total disagreement of. They need to get their staff on the same page as Wendy... My son loves it, he is 4. Takes the bus for primary to and from the daycare for his 1/2 day. Very convenient.
After the former director left, there has been a long list of shortcomings from the new management. We decided to withdraw our child after she was left to cry in the middle of a classroom that was not her own. She was denied breakfast at 8:45. When i returned inside to find her screaming daddy with no teaches showing any interest in consoling her or trying to redirect her attention, that was enough. When my wife called to see what was going on, they proceeded to insinuate that i was lying and say her teacher was right there, the teacher was not there for the 10 minutes i was there trying to cheer her up. The teacher was not there when i came back 10 minutes later to peak in. I brought my daughter home after seeing this. It was visibly discombobulated and unorganized that morning. This was a Friday, i informed them on Monday that my daughter was no longer attending the daycare. I asked in person and via email for a bill. We offered our address if needed. They did not respond and sent a bill to an old address and blamed us. They then sent an email stating that we were consistently delinquent on our payments, this was lie, we were a day late one time. Threatened to send us to collections and add court fees and random charges. To insult us directly and push the blame on my family is a direct indication of the incompetence of the new director. Do not let your child be tossed around by this establishment. If they would leave the stone age and get card processing for payments this could all have been avoided. My money is better spent when lit on fire.
My daughter is 15 months old and has been at the Macedon center almost her whole life. The staff is amazing, (especially Meghan!!) they do so many activities with the kids, even as infants. My daughter is learning some sign language, her body parts, animals, socialization, table manners, you name it, they are doing it. In observing other rooms, I can say that the teachers are always engaged and attentive with all of the kids. All of the staff is so friendly I feel like I'm dropping my daughter off to a family members house, rather than a daycare. I highly recommend this daycare.
My son went to Tot Spot for 3 years before we moved away. The same teachers were there the entire time he went and they all did such a good job with the learning criteria. I felt so comfortable leaving him everyday because I knew he was in great hands. Tot Spot, we miss you!
