The Spanish Academy has been an incredible experience for my boys. They have thrived in the Spanish immersion program, their vocabulary has grown, and they’ve made wonderful friendships. We drive 30 minutes to take them to school because we believe it’s the best place for them. Both of them speak Spanish at home and continue to learn it at school, which was very important to us at such a young age. I can't say enough positive things about this place. The teachers are wonderful, loving, and caring to all the children. The director, DeShea, is very personable and approachable, and the teachers excel at communicating and involving parents. I love the small class sizes, the after-school programs, and that the teachers are native Spanish speakers. Most importantly, they’ve created a warm environment where my boys enjoy learning and growing. My oldest has transitioned to a traditional kindergarten program, and he was so well prepared thanks to TSA. I know his experience at TSA helped him thrive. My only wish is that they had an elementary school program 😊; we love it so much.
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at The Spanish Academy! When we learned that our zoned APS elementary school offers a dual language immersion program, we knew we wanted our children in it. Because admission is lottery-based, with preference given to native Spanish speakers and graduates of full immersion preschools, TSA stood out immediately. We toured a few traditional preschools, but we realized that by choosing TSA, we weren’t just selecting a preschool - we were giving our children the lifelong gift of bilingualism. That one early decision I believe will truly shape their future. Our oldest is now in kindergarten and absolutely thriving in her dual language program, thanks to the incredible foundation she received at TSA from age 2 through Pre-K. She entered kindergarten fully prepared, confident, and excited to learn. The small class sizes (just 6 kids in her Pre-K class compared to 25 at the elementary school) meant she received so much individual attention and care from her teachers. Not only did she build strong early academic skills, but she also developed her Spanish beautifully in such a nurturing environment. She scored in the 99th percentile on her Spanish reading assessment in kindergarten! The teachers are exceptionally sweet, patient, and caring. We drive 20 minutes across town from where we live and it is totally worth it. I have grown so fond of everyone there. TSA is truly a special place and I will forever be grateful.
The Spanish Academy was referred to us by a mom at our local park, and what a Godsend it has been! As a Spanish-speaking parent in a bilingual household where my husband is not a native speaker, it was so important to find a place that could truly nurture our kids’ Spanish. TSA has not disappointed. The way our children have flourished has been incredible! Every single teacher we’ve had has been amazing. Veronica (the director) and DeShea (the owner) are both wonderful as well — always supportive, warm, and involved. This year was our youngest daughter’s first year, and she had a harder time adjusting compared to her older sister four years ago. Veronica and DeShea worked closely with us, reassured us often, and made the transition so much easier. We don’t have enough amazing things to say — our family absolutely loves TSA, and we’re so grateful to be part of this community!
The Spanish Academy has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. My daughter has attended since she was 18months. Leaving you child in the care of others that young is always a nerve wracking thing, but I saw Spanish Academy teachers love and care for my kid as much as I do, in Spanish! I cherish all the videos I have of her at 1, 2 and 3 speaking Spanish. Now at 4 she is starting to read in Spanish! As someone who only speaks English, I’m so proud of my daughter and grateful to the Spanish Academy. Especially the administrative staff for their support!
Our daughter attended TSA for 2 years and enjoyed it all. The staff is friendly and personable, the teachers are very communicative. My daughter loved going. Sad to have move but definitely would recommend.
