The Sandbox 2

After looking at 7 daycares around Tucson we found Sandbox and it was the perfect fit for our son. He started off in the infant room and moved to Rainbow shortly after and is soon moving to the next room because he is a walking machine! The staff is so kind, friendly, attentive and welcoming. All of the teachers greet you and know all of the kids names (even from other classes). Our son has grown so much in his short time at Sandbox and we know that the knowledge, kindness and warmness of his teachers (shout out to Emma and Kaitlyn) and everyone he interacts with is to thank. They have a fun and safe outdoor area, are constantly monitoring their ratios, communicate age appropriate milestones, spend genuine quality time with the children; doing art projects, snack/lunch as a group, following queues for naps/feedings, play soft relaxing music when appropriate, do holiday crafts, etc etc! We are moving and so sad that we won't be able to see Blues grow and explore the Clubhouse but cannot recommend Sandbox enough to Tucson families. They send photos/milestones via the BrightWheel App (although we do wish we got MORE photos we know it's better that teachers are not constantly taking them and uploading them). They are flexible and accommodating and also have great hours; drop off as early as 7am! They also host a variety of events from Date Night care to off-site weekend adventures at the park and an upcoming one at Mount Lemmon. I could go on and on (clearly I already have) but am so thankful for what Sandbox provides.

Where do I begin. I will start by saying that we recently moved and the hardest part of moving was leaving this place. I have yet to find anything that compares. My son was not only taken care of, he THRIVED. When we found the sandbox we were coming from a very poor experience at another daycare. This is my first and only child and he had serious medical needs and we found it difficult to find places that could handle a feeding tube. As soon as we outgrew the tube, our options opened and we tried the sandbox. (In hindsight they could have easily accommodated his medical needs). I grew up driving past it and always thought it looked so cool. I was surprised they accepted vouchers because it looked so high end! And it isi5 is truly a magical place. Their playground and outdoor area is incomparable. It’s a child’s dream. The facilities are clean and well organized, but most importantly, the people there are amazing. We started in Miss Ashley’s class. I was so scared to leave him but instantly those fears vanished when I met her she was exactly the kind of person you would want your child with if they couldn’t be with you. Until the day we left she would come and talk to us even after he had graduated her room. The owners are also wonderful. They are so involved and I feel thats because it is still family owned. The current owners went there as kids when THEIR parents ran it. You don’t find that very often. Everything is some corporate, unfeeling, nameless owner. This place feels like family. I started sending him part time but moved to full time solely because I actually felt sending him there was better for his development then being home. He completely blossomed here. If you are questioning sending your child here, DONT!! Their program actually has a real curriculum. They had my son going to art and music even as a 1 year old. These people are educated and know their stuff. We left after moving to the clubhouse side which was equally as wonderful. We loved ms. Olga and all of the wonderful instructors. I can’t say enough good things. We will miss this place so much.

I highly recommend this daycare for your little ones. They are organized, flexible, caring, loving, and most importantly they are patient with the kids. They teach the kids everything that is great for their age group. They make a schedule for them so they are not just sitting in one room all day. I have heard horror stories about daycares which made it really hard to put my babies into just any daycare. I was recommend by my sister just say I trust my sister with my life and I took the shot and I have not been disappointed once. We have been with them for a few years now. Amazing Daycare!!!

No amount of words can explain how much I love this daycare and the people who have worked here. I should have written a review several years ago but I am moved to do so today because our family unexpected grew by one a year ago and we no longer live in Tucson. I have had a painful and difficult time finding childcare in the town we live in that comes anywhere even slightly close to the sandbox. I miss this preschool/daycare more than ever now that I’m in need of child care again. The sandbox has the best staff and is owned and operated by an amazing family. I never in the 5 years our two older kids attended, had a negative experience. The facility is wonderful and nurtures all developmental aspects of early childhood, provides a safe and clean environment, and operates along the highest morals and principles. I cried when we said goodbye to our sandbox family, who loved and cared for our kids with kindness, respect, and genuine concern for their early childhood development. There is no better place in Tucson for childcare. Our son attended from 3 months to 4 years old. Our daughter attended from 15 months to 6 years old. They still remember the sandbox and were always happy there.

I am convinced this is the best school in Tucson. The level of care and professionalism from all the teachers and helpers is incredible. We toured maybe 20 preschools and centers before deciding on sandbox and absolutely love our decision. Besides the facilities and education (which are top notch), they TRULY care about your children, which is what matters most in the end.
