I was a member of this facility as a kid growing up in the Blufff, the stafff gave us a sense of belonging, and provided, life skills, that I have this very day, Mr Thomas and Al GLong, Roy Tumor, worked here back in the 70 and 80's and under tier supervision, many boys and girls , from the near by nieghborhood, avoided mishaps, due tooo the dedication and safe haven of this boys and girls club, the impact and strong influence is what's missing in society today, I as a man lwarned the skilll of hard work, and rewards through the sports programs that I participated in, and sports teams that I played on, I found my first love , there , as she was a life guard @ the swimmung pool,I also, discovered my inter toughnest, that helped me survive, in the streeets and as a Veteran, I had my first ever fist fight , where , we was aloud too settled using boxing glives and conflict resolce under adult supervision, quite different these days, when kids, don't get those skills, l was fearful of my parents displine, but as a renforcment, I wss fearful of losing my Bellwood Membership Card and privilages, if I got in trouble up there, getting kicked out of the Club, woul d have been devestating for me, because, it was a place that alll my friends would be, after school.
