We put our daughter in TLE Shelby summer 2025. Our experience with the staff has been phenomenal. Carolyn-Jennifer & Erica along with the rest the of the staff have been great! Can’t say enough positive things about TLE Shelby Twp.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone my children attended for almost a year. after a few months one of the teachers told us our 2.5 year old needs to be checked for ADHD. A Dr. would confirm you don't even start thinking about this until the age of 4. We know our twin boys are on the more active side, but never thought ADHD applied to them. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, the situation was handled and we kept our children there. A year later and multiple different teachers, I arrived to pick up my children at 2:15 on a Friday, a very unusual time for me to pick up my kids. When i entered the classroom i was greeted by a strong smell of smoke and the teacher showed obvious signs of inebriation. I also asked my now 3.5 year old twin boys if they ever see smoke coming out of their teachers mouth in which they both responded yes. I made the office aware of the situation and was told they would consult with the director on Monday. I requested that my children not be put in her class anymore. I would expect them to move my child out of the class (they have multiple preschool rooms) and monitor the situation for a few days/weeks, Send the teacher out for drug testing after 2:15 as this is likely her daily routine so she doesn't show signs when the rest of the parents pick up around 3-4pm. I was instead told that they would not be able to move my children to another class, and gave me no re assurance that any follow up was going to be done about the situation. It felt like they knew about the employee's habit and are willing to deal with the business risk of having an inebriated employee take care of children all day.

UPDATE: Hours after posting this review, I received a call from the corporate office. I was informed that my daughter had been immediately withdrawn from the school before I was ever notified. I was also told that if I wanted her back in the program, I could remove my review and reach out to the director—those were the exact words, more or less. At this point, the situation speaks for itself. I am writing this review with the hope that the administration will take a serious and honest look at what is happening inside this school. Families entrust their children to educators with the expectation that they will be supported, guided, and understood—not discouraged, dismissed, or made to feel like a burden. The school could greatly benefit from hiring staff who are truly qualified in child development. Time and time again, the staff demonstrated a lack of professionalism and a concerning absence of experience working with young children. My daughter—who is four years old—was written up several times a day for behaviors that any child development professional would recognize as completely normal for her age. When I shared these write‑ups with an actual professional, they were shocked by the behavior of the school. The constant negative feedback and excessive write‑ups created so much anxiety in my daughter that I ultimately had to take her to a counselor. She would receive up to 4 in one day. I even sought counseling myself because I found myself feeling anxious every time I walked into the building. No parent should feel dread when dropping off their child at school. One of the clearest examples of the school’s unwillingness to support children’s individual needs involved nap time. My daughter struggles with napping, and many of the write‑ups occurred during that period. I approached the staff with reasonable, developmentally appropriate alternatives—quiet activities such as a sensory box or reading a book in the same room. Instead of working with me to create an action plan that supported my daughter, the school told me she had to participate in nap time or they would lose their licensing. That statement is simply not true. Licensing rules state that four‑year‑olds are not required to nap; they must only be allowed to sleep if they naturally fall asleep. They cannot be forced to nap, nor can they be woken once asleep. The school’s claim was not only misleading but seemed designed to shut down any attempt at collaboration or improvement. At every turn, it felt as though the staff wanted to hinder progress rather than support it. Their actions made it painfully clear that they did not want my daughter there. This is heartbreaking, especially because she has made friends and built connections. To remove her simply because the teachers do not want to put in the effort to work with a child who needs understanding—not punishment—is deeply saddening. I am sharing this experience not out of anger, but out of genuine concern. Schools are meant to nurture children, to help them grow, to shape their minds and their confidence. What we experienced felt like the opposite. I urge the administration to take a close, honest look at what is happening within these classrooms. Children deserve patience, compassion, and educators who understand development—not constant criticism and punitive responses to normal behavior. The goal of early childhood education should always be to build children up, not break them down. I sincerely hope this school chooses to reflect, improve, and remember the responsibility they have to the young minds in their care.

I would not recommend this daycare center. The environment is extremely unstable, with teachers and children constantly being shuffled from classroom to classroom. There seems to be a revolving door of management, and the lack of consistency really shows. It doesn’t feel like the well-being of the staff or the children is a true priority here—decisions appear to be made for convenience rather than for what’s best for the kids. Children thrive on stability and routine, and unfortunately, this center fails to provide that. If you are looking for a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment for your child, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I will never recommend this school to anyone! Before I register my 3 year old I told them he is not fully potty trained but you have to remind him to go to the bathroom, they said yes,but I have to send him in pull ups, I drop him off with diaper and pick him up he still have diaper on, that means they don’t care about potty train him… the owner told me that they are going to unenrolled him if he is not going to potty in 2 weeks, ok I told her anyway this is going to be he’s last week because he was crying every day, I feel it something was going on, the next day she saw me and told me me that he stay so good and she kind of changed my mind to still let him I thought they are kids maybe is normal to cry in beginning, and I asked her how about that you told me your going to unenrolled him, she changed her words and said it’s ok we kan keep him! After 2 weeks my son throw up in the morning that is ‘’today’’ and the owner told me we cant keep him sick, he is not sick I told her and they know it he was taking antibiotics because of mucus, he throw up mucus, if my son was sick I will never feel good to send him sick at school, because nothing is more important that him… the lady at the front bring he’s lunch box outside without any respect…also the owner told me at the door you can look for a difrent school…. They was All drama since day one Also they changed classes every day, they change teachers every day… every time I pick him up I had to go and look which class and what teacher my son had….
