The Learning Experience

I want to recognize Tahja Baston and Kameshia Shannon for the incredible leadership they bring to TLE Allen. Follow up 2/19 - The owners of TLE Allen, a local daycare in Allen, have informed families and staff that they will be closing the center effective March 13th. This gives everyone less than 30 days to secure new childcare arrangements and, for staff, new employment. While their locations in New York and Florida are reportedly thriving, the Allen and Mansfield centers have been struggling financially. The owners have stated that they have been relying on funds from their other schools to cover the rent and operating expenses for the Allen location. Ultimately, they have chosen to close TLE Allen based on a business decision—one that overlooks the strong, supportive community that has formed within this school. My daughter has been part of TLE Allen since September 2023. During that time, we have remained loyal despite director changes, ownership changes, and significant staff turnover. The dedicated staff members who have stayed and worked tirelessly to keep TLE Allen going have become like family to us, and we are deeply grateful for them. The stress and heartache this abrupt closure has caused my family is unimaginable. It is incredibly disappointing to see a decision driven purely by financial priorities without consideration for the children, families, and educators who rely on this daycare and who value it as a meaningful part of the Allen community. I am profoundly disappointed in Michael and Sabrena for choosing to close TLE Allen in this way.

My boys have been going here from 2018-2023! There has definitely been turnover through the years and through the pandemic, but through it all, TLE and staff continued to make it a safe and friendly learning environment for our kids. Both our kids were able to start reading before kindergarten! The facility is nice, clean, and nurturing. I love that they provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to save me time from packing. Also love the playgrounds and make believe blvd for the kids playtime. And having the app to see pictures of their activities throughout the day is the best! Today was my little one’s graduation and it was a bitter sweet moment! The program was so cute and showed how much they are ready for Kindergarten! The current management team and staff is by far my favorite over the years! Shout out to Mrs. Feri, Mrs. Leah, Mr. Rick, Mrs. Kamesha, and Mrs. Kenzie for always being there for our kiddos the past couple years!

We've been attending TLE in Allen since December 2021 and we LOVE it. Our kids have learned and grown so much and we have been lucky to create amazing relationships with the various teachers that they've had throughout the years. I also love the amount of diversity in both the staff and students who attend. The extras included in tuition (splash pad in the summer, various block parties/holiday parties, petting zoos, visits from local fire fighters to teach out fire safety, etc.) are an amazing bonus that my kids absolutely love. We are so thankful for TLE and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us! So thankful to count TLE as part of our village.

Very rude staff. My child was treated unfairly by the teachers and was almost always in tears during pickup. I would get complaints from my son about how he wasn’t allowed to drink water all day. I took this up with his teacher and my concerns were dismissed. I was basically told my son is lying and making this all up. There’s biased treatment by the teachers and all staff for a matter of fact. Save your child, time, and money. Don’t bring your kids here.

We’ve had a great experience at TLE the last 2 years. My son is more than prepared for kindergarten in Aug. Miss Feri is simply the best! Lots of love and learning. She truly cares about the well being of every little one in her class! My son said he is not leaving Miss Feri and is staying at TLE forever. We are so grateful for Miss Leah, Miss Kenzie, Miss Feri, & Miss Kamesha! Can’t forget Mr. Rick too!!!
