The Goddard School Of Chapel Hill

I absolutely love the staff at the Goddard School in Chapel Hill—it’s truly the people who make it such a wonderful place for children. I tell all my friends about it! Ms. Diana is amazing, and Ms. Tonya, Ms. Nicole, Ms. Eyvetta, and Ms. Sari (sp?) are all so kind and dedicated. They’ve been incredibly supportive of our toddler, who has learned so much—he started at 9 months old, not yet talking or walking, and now his pediatrician is so impressed with his vocabulary! They do so many fun activities, and we love getting the pictures and videos throughout the day. We can’t wait to enroll our little girl once she’s born!

Our son has been at The Goddard School for about seven months now, starting when he was still very little, and overall the experience has been wonderful. The teachers in the infant classroom are great. You can tell they truly care for the children and are always happy to see them. We also appreciate how well they communicate with us. The app is great for babies - letting us know if he is eating his food, needs more diapers wipes etc and whether he’s pooping. They’re also good about letting us know when he falls or hits his head etc- all normal things that happen for curious babies exploring their environment, but they’re up front about it and let us know. Even at his young age, they engage him with art projects, photos, and little take-home creations that make us smile. It’s clear they go the extra mile to make the day meaningful for the babies. We often get cute photos through the app. Another huge benefit is the schedule. The school is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., which is so important for working parents. Many other daycares in the area close around 3 p.m., which just doesn’t work if you’re trying to balance childcare with a full workday. The pricing is also competitive with other daycares even though they’re open longer. Overall, we’ve had a very positive experience with The Goddard School and would definitely recommend it to other families.

We love the Minnows class and the Goddard leadership. Brenda and Sakinah are amazing teachers, not only to our baby, but also to us as first-time parents. Our daughter loves coming to daycare and learns so much from her teachers and classmates. Our new favorite milestone is that our daughter waves when you say "hello" in English and "adios" in Spanish. We never have to worry about her at Goddard - we know that she is surrounded by people who really care about her and treat her like their own child. We also trust that if there's anything that we need adjusted, that the leadership is direct, effective and responsive. It is a gift to have such an amazing and positive experience from her first teachers!

Very disappointed with my experience at Goddard in Chapel Hill. My son was only enrolled for a month, however they placed him in the wrong class and switched him after the second week. His first class lacked a full time teacher until the day before he left. His second teacher did not know Spanish (although they include it in their curriculum) and did not have an assistant or anyone to help with potty training my son (which was also advertised on the tour). They also misplaced a baby blanket I had with his name on it since he was born, fitted sheets and items in his diaper bag. They also had the nerve to charge us a $1,000 "deactivation fee" to move him to another school after not receiving the services described on their site. The administrative team was nice and sold us from the tour (don't get bamboozled, they showed us a random class and NOT where our child would be located) but once we enrolled our son, it was a horrible experience. They need to do better.

We have been very happy with The Goddard School. I feel my child is very secure safe in and outside of the school. The school is always very clean and provides a healthy environment for my child to learn. I am very excited about the children being taught ASL, Spanish, involved in many art projects, and more. My child loves art and her teachers give her many opportunities throughout the week to enjoy painting, coloring, and more. Everyday I drop and pick up my child, I am always greeted by one of the friendly staff members. I would highly recommend this school to anyone with a child seeking a learning preschool/childcare facility.
