A friendly face welcomed me into a beautiful foyer encased by stone walls all carefully placed to create an open, welcome, feel. I looked up and to my surprise saw no roof and knew G-d was a welcome congregant. I was not a stranger on my first Friday service- Smiling faces, heartfelt warm hello’s, so I joined , a year ago. Rabbi Mike sermons are warm and grounded in today. Delivered by a man who understands the challenges of this world. Hazzan Cliff’s voice and spirit to have song echo as prayers are chanted move the soul. I am grateful that I found this community and my spiritual home in Sarasota.
Temple Sinai has been my spiritual home for decades. I experience a sense of peace in our beautiful sanctuary. We are known as a friendly and inclusive place where members soon feel like family. We recently welcomed Rabbi Michael Cohen and have been blessed with Chazzan Abramson for many musical years. We have an accredited early education center, a Religious School, adult lifelong learning, small group Chavurahs, vibrant Women of Sinai and Men's Club.....a gift shop.....we have it all.
Stepping into this temple for the first time felt like home! The members were all quick to greet me and get to know me in a welcoming environment, even with my nontraditional upbringing! Chazzan and Rabbi Michael give inspiring and powerful words every service, and make an effort to get to know the clergy as well! What a wonderful environment, I am so grateful for Temple Sinai and this community!
