We attended the Sarasota first United Methodist Church for Easter Services 2024.. We were greeted warmly by members, and invited To place flowers on the Easter cross. This beautiful sanctuary had absolutely stunning stained glass windows! The music was absolutely outstanding —with pipe organ, full choir, brass and drums. Service was traditional with Easter Bible readings, messages, hymns, and prayers. All in all and absolutely wonderful Easter morning: we felt that we were greeted and participated fully as a part of this Christian community and worship.

Best church and one of the longest standing in Sarasota. Hard pressed to find another elegant church with a magnificent organ played by one of the best choir directors in all Sarasota County!

This evening’s concert featured Giuseppina Ciara on harp, vocals and Jesse Martins, pianist. Ms Ciara has been the Sarasota Opera’s harpist for over 20 years. She performed some of her latest CD called A Ticket Home. Very eclectic and different combining pop and classical. Ms Ciara is an outstanding harpist and vocalist and the concert was excellent. The acoustics in the church were very good. Plenty of comfortable seats. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Next concert is February 25 and all concerts are free.

I grew up going to this church and always dreamed of having my wedding ceremony here. I was able to get married in the gorgeous sanctuary last week and am so grateful. The church was beautiful as ever, Michael the music director did an exceptional job on the organ music, and everyone I worked with was such a blessing. Thank you First Church!
