This daycare is top tier. They truly love your kids like their own. The way they welcomed my son immediately into their school felt like he was joining a little family. My kids are thriving. My daughter used to turn her back to people in social situations but I’ve watched her become less and less anxious. She now happily runs to her teachers and hugs her friends every morning. Their teachers are authentic and take care of my kids in a way that feels familiar to them, and give a little extra personal attention when they know my kids are having a hard day. I am thankful for Mary Jo and her wonderful staff and would highly recommend First Step in Fort Lee.
I have an (almost) 3 year old and a one year old that have been coming to the center for nearly a year now. I couldn’t be happier with the care provided by the staff here! The owner, Mary Jo is incredibly welcoming, accommodating and considerate. My daughter has really grown since starting care here; her vocabulary has broadened; she always has different art projects that she is so proud to show us. The caregivers in the infant room- Miss Mary and Lina.... I adore them. You can tell they are there because they genuinely love the kids. I highly recommend this center. It is such a relief to be able to go to work and to know that your children are in a safe, loving environment. Thanks guys for all that you do!!!
As a first time mom I had trouble with trusting anyone with my son. I enrolled my son when he was 1 years old. He started having trouble with social anxiety. That quickly went away. He started in the infant room where he learned so much. When he was 18 months he went to the tod's for twos class. I love that its a classroom setting and he gets to do activities and so many fun things. Gets them ready for real school but making it so fun. My son was fully potty trained before 2 because of the examples and encouragement he saw in the school. From day one I stepped in there it was so comfortable for us. All the staff treat us like family. The guidance and trust was everything for me. To the point that my son sometimes wants to stay longer in school and at pick up is so excited to show me things. Mornings its a kiss and hug goodbye to me. That right there as a 1st time mother is everything because you know your child is safe while your at work. Thank you guys !!!
This is an amazing daycare and nursery school. The staff are very patient and loving with all the children. This is an ideal place to start your young infant or baby as they can grow with the school through pre-K which is great for consistency. The center offers a lot of perks such as a dance instructor that comes weekly, organic lunch program, many fun activities throughout the year. We have been with First step for several years and our child is happy every day going there and brings home the cutest art projects. Highly recommend this daycare/ preschool center.
