My Experience as a Parent at Cole Academy Kailua As a mother, I trusted Cole Academy Kailua to provide a safe and nurturing environment for my children. Unfortunately, my experience left me deeply concerned, and I feel obligated to share it so other parents can make an informed decision. During my time with the school, I personally observed a teacher engaging in behavior that, in my opinion, was inappropriate for a classroom setting. This included frequent yelling at young children in a way that I felt was excessive and unsettling. There were also instances where I witnessed physical interactions that, to me, seemed unnecessarily harsh for a preschool environment. When I raised my concerns with the administration, I did not feel they were taken seriously or addressed in a way that prioritized student well-being. Instead, I encountered an environment that felt dismissive and unwilling to acknowledge or correct the issues. As a parent, this was extremely distressing. My child’s safety and emotional well-being are my highest priority, and ultimately, I made the difficult decision to withdraw from the program. No parent should ever have to question whether their child is in a supportive and protective environment. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage families to research all available options carefully before enrolling their child at this school.
