We have been part of this daycare community for a while, and since the change in ownership, things simply haven’t felt the same. The warmth and friendliness that once stood out has noticeably shifted. Communication has decreased, staff turnover seems high, and there has been very little consistency. One of the biggest concerns has been routine. Families were told recently that drop-off must be no later than 9 AM to protect the children’s classroom routine, yet my child has not consistently been in the same classroom with the same teachers since the transition. He has been moved between rooms without notice, and I often don’t know which classroom I’ll be dropping him off at or picking him up from. That inconsistency feels at odds with the emphasis placed on “routine.” Additionally, the passive-aggressive mass messages sent out to parents about drop-off times feel hypocritical and, frankly, insulting. Many of us chose this daycare specifically because of the flexibility it once offered with drop-off and pick-up times. We are paying for a service, and the tone of those communications does not reflect partnership with families. Flexibility and respect was once a strength of this center, and it’s disappointing to see that shift without meaningful dialogue. I do want to say that two of the teachers my child is closest to are truly wonderful, kind, caring, and clearly invested in the children. They are the reason he is still attending. I sincerely hope they are being supported and compensated in a way that reflects the value they bring, because they are carrying so much of the positive experience. Overall, it’s just sad and frustrating. We want stability, communication, and the same sense of community that once made this place feel special.

Our son has been attending here for the last 2.5 years. When it was run by Miss Jenny we had no issues. Since then, it has been one thing after another. They do not respond to communications, the teachers are unhappy, and they are unable to provide a consistent environment for our son. Will be looking elsewhere if they don’t change anything soon.

My grandson attended the Academy for the past three years. He will be leaving to go to kindergarten in the Fall. We have enjoyed the Academy immensely. The facility is cleaned immaculately each afternoon, the learning manipulative are top notch , the staff are well trained, professional yet extremely friendly and caring. 10 out of 5 stars for The Academy of Asheville

We love The Academy of Asheville! The staff members are amazing and professional. They made us feel like we were part of the family. My son really grew into his personality and hit major milestones while he attended The Academy. He was well taken care of and loved all the different activities that they do. It was a great feeling when I was dropping my son off, that he was so excited to be there he barely said goodbye and at pick up he was so excited to tell me about his day!! Communication with the staff was great! If I had a question, Jenny and Kim promptly responded to my email or returned my phone call.

The Academy has been such a blessing to our family since my twin children were enrolled there a few years ago. The assurance that the twins are in a safe and clean environment with a reliable and caring staff, as well as seeing how much they are learning and how happy they are, all make dropping them off each day so much easier. The teachers are amazing in how they keep the day structured and balanced. There is also very little turnover, so my children know and feel comfortable with all the teachers and staff. Educationally, I feel the Academy has set my children on the right trajectory to be more than prepared for kindergarten. The Academy is also unique in their flexibility with drop off and pick up, which is great for families with busy or varying schedules each day!
