What Parents Say
The Academy for Little People receives mixed reviews with most parents praising the staff, child development focus, and care quality, while a small number report serious concerns about staff conduct and facility maintenance. The majority of recent reviews are highly positive, though older negative reviews cite unprofessional management and alleged physical incidents with children.
I highly recommend Little People's Child Development Daycare services! My son transferred from a previous daycare & has been at this facility just shy of a year & I couldn't be more pleased! Communication is great, hands on activities, structured schedules, staff (including the owner) are sweet & majority are older which brings an "old school" approach. Watching my son learn so much from this daycare is heart warming & comforting. It really takes a village!
10/10 would NOT recommend this daycare to anyone. The owner is extremely rude and her attitude is unprofessional in every aspect. She’s told me several times if I didn’t like her rules or extra added fees to take my children somewhere else. Told me to come pick my child up because supplies wasn’t met the day of but a day after because my children were sick and had not attended in over a week. The building is really out of date most of the teachers are older and set in their ways, meaning real strict and rude with the children. They fail to remember the children’s names. Or do productive activities with them, don’t do holiday parties with the children or anything. they’re closed for any inconvenience to them on short notices. Roof has had multiple leaks in the 7 months my kids did attend and would close for short notice of that. If you want a rude and uneducated place to send your children this would be the one. Below is just little of how unprofessional and rude she is.
Both of my boys went to and are still go to LPCDC. They are wonderful and care for my babies like they were their own.
This is hands down the best child care center my daughter has attended. Sadly, we no longer live in the area so we had to transfer her elsewhere. Here are some things I can tell you about this center. The owner, Mr. Linn is a stand up guy who cares and loves the kids. They staff is amazing (Ms. Teri, Ms. Ruth and Ms. Liz) to name a few, treated my child like one of their own. My daughter has attended 2 other child care centers since we moved and she still talks about wanting to go back to Little People's. The teachers there actually care about your child learning and work hard to do so. They have multiple field trips in the summer for the kids and you don't get that everywhere. As a parent I can tell you that the place is clean, they feed your children nutritious meals and actually care about their well being. Other things I miss about this place is their security measures. They have a pass-code you use at the front door and there you are met with a front desk. They have a camera system that you can log into and see your child at any time during the day. They also have a computer you use to sign your kids in and out.. you can use a debit/credit card to pay for tuition fees.. things that seem basic that other places don't even come close to. I highly recommend them, their tuition prices are a great bang for your buck and your kids will thank you!
I have had my daughter in this development center since she was 2 (now 4) and my wife and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. We had her in another daycare prior to this one that we thought was nice but we moved and were lucky enough to find this one. This is more than a daycare; this is actually a child development center! While they are watching the kids they are teaching. My daughter is only 4 years old and knows how to read and write her own name, my name and her mom’s name. She can count to 20 (sometimes 30 when she has the patience for it), knows the entire alphabet – and not just the song, she actually recognizes letters and can call them out. She can already add and subtract smaller numbers. And she LOVES the songs they teach her. She usually sings them for me on the way home. I was looking at some of the other reviews on here talking about Ms. Mae and I feel sorry for the children of those parents because they are likely not disciplined at home. That is if they are parents at all. A few of those reviews sound like they are coming from a disgruntled former employee. I noticed how they are anonymous... Ms. Mae is the manager of this facility and when she turns on her angry Grandma voice, kids sit down and shut up. It may not be pleasant to be around but it is effective. It is certainly much better than having those kids running around endangering themselves and the other children around them. Those teachers can’t lay a hand on the children and some of the little brats know this and even taunt the teachers with it; but when Ms. Mae gets involved by yelling at them, these situations get defused swiftly. I have never seen her get physical with any child except for when they want to hug her before going home.
