What Parents Say
Tender Years Child Care Center receives mixed reviews with most parents praising staff warmth and child care quality, though some raise concerns about pricing practices and facility conditions. Long-time families report positive experiences, while newer or prospective families cite inconsistent pricing, billing policies, and religious practices as drawbacks.
This daycare is amazing .quite a few years ago me and my brother came here. We had a great time. No complaints. All of the staff were firm but respectful. And if we had issue they always helped solve them. I remember I lost my first tooth there. I would go again if I could
(This is Jason’s daughter) I and my brother went there when we were children. And I am glad we did. I have many fond memories with the staff, and children. I was not forced to call anyone anything, and was surely not forced to say grace. Children whom chose to did, but it was never forced. I loved it there, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. We did have snacks and where well supervised 10/10 experience would do it again.
Luckily we never had the opportunity to bring our little girl here. However my partner and I did take a tour of the facility “which resembles a large painted tin shack” After the owner gave us a tour and answered our questions, she let us know that if we wanted to register our newborn here it would cost the non-refundable $50 registration fee (which would hold a spot for her) Tuition would cost $160 per week once we started bringing her in full time. Two weeks later we tried to register her and we were told that the price had since changed and it would cost us $75 per week to hold a spot for her while until she was old enough to attend and tuition was now $180 per week. We decided to take her to a different daycare in town where prices are a little more set in stone and more reliable. This place also seems very unprofessional due to the fact that the staff make the children pray before each meal which I think is very inappropriate. Also the owner requires all the children to call her “nana” Maybe those things don’t bother other people however I wouldn’t take my child here and I couldn’t recommend this daycare to anyone else.
I would like to clarify a few things. The owner DOESN'T have to give a discounts if she did you should be grateful however, this is why it's hard to help people bc of comments like this there is no appreciation. As far as rates no one has ever been charged 180.00 it is base on star rating. Policy did change with holding a spot because you can't pay the overhead with 50.00 this goes for any center. As far as payment when your child is out sick/vacation that goes for any center again overhead still continues and your tuition holds your child's spot. No child is made to say grace if they choose not to that is totally fine but we do say grace at meal times. And noone makes the children call her nana, there is an older lady that has worked there since we opened and the staff and kids have always called her nana not to mention she has several grandchildren there. And might I add the ones making the negative post have been dismissed from the center for certain reason's some being none payment etc...and these are the ones making false allegations ; ) Anyone who knows us knows our heart. Unfortunately you can't please everyone ;)
The teachers are great it is the business aspect for the review. First off everyone pays a different rate and none of which are the posted rate. Had been loyal to this place for years then find through mutual friends who also have kid there we are not paying the same. When asked it is always "well your getting a discounted rate" well no your not when people with same age kids who have been there less time that ours are paying a LOT less. Don't go on vacation or let your child end up sick in the hospital because they will want to bill you for weeks your child is not even there. And if you can't take it anymore and want to remove your children they want you to pay for two weeks of care. Used to be a great place but now its one thing after another kids get bruised and cut and they tell you about it but never the when or how. There are plenty of options around town for the same or better care for a better price and more upfront business practices.
