One of my friends from college got married here recently. It was my first time inside of a synagogue. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous inside, but it is also inviting and welcoming. There is gorgeous art all around. The library was a highlight (I am a school librarian). But I also loved the chuppah my friend and their husband used. It looked like trees when not set up as the chuppah. I also loved the stained glass and other pieces of art.
Benefits and suffers from being a large temple. Able to offer many and varied programs, but in my time here I found the congregation and temple staff to be uninvested in individual members who held no "sway." Whenever my family suffered a loss or an illness, we would alert the temple, which would put such things in the weekly bulletin, but we would never receive any kind of outreach or condolence from anyone. We felt very lonely here.
Cantor Beth is by far the best singer I have ever witnessed. We went to a service for a friend of ours and her signing really made the experience amazing!! My ears are still overjoyed
Wonderful synagogue! Great Rabbis, equally great staff all housed in a beautiful building! The Cantor is a nationally known recording artist.
Great welcoming community and congregation with extremely talented, kind and creative clergy, staff & faculty. At the cutting edge of everything they're doing educationally and as a progressive religious movement.
