Best Festival year after year. New vendors each time I go.
Pumpkin prices went from giving a donation last year, to an absurd amount this year. I’m all about giving a fair amount, and I loved that they were making it possible for families from all different economical situations able to get a pumpkin last year. But this year it cost me $35 for two carving pumpkins for my kids. We won’t return next year.
Very nice Church. Very Good people. Elaine Paige heads up a ministry called Jason's House. This ministry brings families of kids that have been stricken with illnesses such as cancer (as well as other things), brings them to the beach for an all inclusive vacation for free. They are using the benefits of their lovely environment to do Jesus's work in ministering to people's souls. I really am proud for the work they do all year round, not just preaching, but ministering to people in need! Thank You for your hard work and dedication to serving others. If you are able to, PLEASE send any monetary donations to help out this ministry to the church c/o Jason's House or call and ask how you may contribute. This is a wonderful cause. These kids have been through so much in their short time in life. Help make memories of a lifetime for them. This may be the only "normal" time they have in years! Thank you to Elaine and all of the other volunteers at this church for all that you do!!
Well hate is a very strong adjective to describe our feelings concerning this church but let's just say we didn't feel very welcome in this church. My wife being a ordained United Methodist pastor in her right and visitors in the area we decided to attend the Sunday morning service. The folks sitting in the same pew or in the adjoining pews didn't make us feel welcome or the pastor after the service didn't even offer to greet us or to shake hand...frosty reception!
This is my church.....a beautiful building with wonderful pastors and friendly, caring members. SUMC is active in the community with various missions but also has many great groups and programs within the church. All are welcome. ...check us out!
