This center has definitely gone downhill after the old director Mrs. Burgess retired. They going up on tuition and they’re not even teaching the kids anything in the preschool class. The preschool teacher doesn’t even have control over the kids every time my son is dropped off or picked up kids are running everywhere. I never see any activities being done just free play all day. The classroom is not clean and the kids bathrooms are filthy. It has been countless times that I as a parent had to clean the bathroom just so my child could potty. I’ve even mentioned it to the director Sherri. Every time my child is picked up his nose is always snotty, and his shoes are never tied. That’s one thing the old director Mrs.Burgess didn’t play the kids always had to have a clean face and their shoes always had to be tied. Then they have the nerve to go up on tuition and the kids aren’t being taught anything would definitely not recommend this center to anyone.
The Sunshine House at North Charleston has been the best care for my daughter since she was 2 years old. Each staff member from the director to the staff have been amazing with my daughters care, learning and growth. The teachers are very attentive, dedicated to teaching, activities and so much more, the teachers are charismatic and loving to all the children. I made the best decision in choosing The Sunshine House at North Charleston for my daughters care and learning school.
We love the Sunshine House! As, first time parents we were apprehensive about leaving our daughter anywhere. We visited a number of day cares - some close to our neighborhood and our jobs - all seemed nice, but Sunshine House rose to the top. From the staff to the facilities the security, the cleanliness and convenience to both work and home, Sunshine house is the fit we only could have imaged. The staff of Sunshine House has taken such great care of our daughter and makes the extra effort for her care and education. Our daughter continues to thrive every day. We are so happy we found the family at Sunshine House.
Where can I start? The Sunshine House has been such an amazing support system. A village that I wished I’d always had! From the start, the educators and caregivers at the Sunshine House have been nothing but supportive, accepting, and loving. They noticed my stress as a new neurodivergent mommy of a child that’s potentially on the spectrum too. They calmed my anxiety by accepting my baby boy with open arms and healthy reinforcement. He’d cry and cryyyyy every time I dropped him off and all they did was reassure me and him! They’d gently take him in with NO hesitation, telling me it’s okay, calming my anxiety and putting to rest my guilty heart of leaving my baby. Without giving too much away, my family experienced something traumatic. If it wasn’t for my son attending the Sunshine house, I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through that bump. Their compassion is unmatched, their love for children is pure, and they have helped to establish my son’s education in places where I needed help. The more you know as an aunt is the less you know as a parent, which is something you don’t find out until having your own child. I had all these expectations of how I would be, and life took a hold of me for a while. But when enrolled my baby here, I knew they were perfect for us. The knowledge I taught my baby? They helped him develop it, his skills, socially and emotionally. Things that I was finding a little hard to do by myself, especially being a nerospicy mama, they helped tie together. Like I had moms and sisters, a village to raise my baby. As I am typing here, words cannot truly describe the awesomeness of the staff here. They are amazing moms, aunts, teachers, caregivers, and great role models overall. My baby is the most important person to me and Mrs. Burgess, Ms. Cassandra, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Paulette, and absolutely ALLLLL of the school’s staff are absolutely wonderful. They keep our babies safe, loved, and provide structured education with room to grow! I see that Mrs. Burgess is retiring, so I apologize that it took this moment for me to acknowledge how great they have been. Her presence will be greatly missed but I am so very thankful that I got to meet her! She is one of God’s chosen. You can feel his light through her! Enroll your babies here!!! You will NEVER regret it!
My daughter was so lucky to have such amazing women caring for her while she attended the Sunshine House. Each staff member, from the director, to the caregivers and teachers, to the ladies who prepare food and snacks, care so much and love the (often thankless) work they do! I hear horror stories about daycares all the time but in the 4+ years my daughter was at the Sunshine House, I always knew I never had to worry about her. The staff loved her like their own and I will continue to send her here during school holidays when I have to work.
