What Parents Say
Sunshine Academy receives mostly positive reviews from parents of toddlers and preschoolers who praise the clean facility, affordable flexible pricing, friendly staff, and real meals. However, one parent had a negative experience with infant care, citing inadequate attention and communication.
I enrolled my daughter and had her dropped off one day. I never witnessed anybody being mean to her, but she complained about a teacher being mean to her and refused to go back. Every time I ever walked in, though, they did seem like they were in horrible moods and didn’t seem very attentive. I’ve since enrolled my child at a different day care and she loves it there and hasn’t told me she doesn’t want to go back. After reading through reviews, I’m glad I didn’t take her back to Sunshine Academy. There’s a reason this daycare is the cheapest around.
We’ve been with Sunshine Academy ☀️ for a year and a half now and absolutely love it ! My son was 3 when I put him in and I was so reluctant and nervous but it literally was the best thing for him! He loves goin too! We live close and every time we pass he yells ‘there’s my daycare’!!!!!! EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. It’s a very clean environment, I love that they cook actual meals for the kids. They have a great set up and curriculum. All the teachers are friendly and welcoming ! Mrs Natalie is our teacher and we so so so love her !!! She’s amazing ! Ever oh so patient and so kind! The director Mrs Tiffany is very pleasant as well! Always willing to help out and is understanding ! All the staff is great, just haven’t worked with many of them like I have the other two. Over all we love Sunshine ☀️ and would recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, safe, friendly place for your kid(s) to go.
I just started taking my kids to Sunshine Academy. They are 2 1/2 and almost 4. They both seem to really like it and I don't have any complaints yet! With that said, it's pretty obvious the kids aren't getting a ton of personal attention. So I personally wouldn't bring them here if they had to go to daycare full time. As my schedule (and husband's schedule) work out, they only go once or twice a week. So I think it's a good place for them to run around and play with other kids on a part-time level. It's a good place to go if you need a flexible daycare. The days and times I drop my kids off always vary, and they are fine with it. Overall, I'd say it's a good enough daycare if they only need to go part-time!
My child really enjoys this daycare. She always tells me about her friends and the fun things she does at "school". Her Teacher, Ashley, is a great teacher and always has awesome projects for the kids to do! Every day when i pick up my child Ashley always tells me how my daughters day went and anything else i need to know, Which is great and i really appreciate that!
As the parent of a premature infant, I was already nervous about having to take my daughter to daycare when I had to return to work. I looked at a couple daycare centers in my area and decided on Sunshine Academy because they offered a daily rate. I only took her there for 5 days. I only dropped her off and picked her up from the baby room one time, the rest of the time she was with the toddlers, who would go up to her with snotty noses and touch her face! (as a preemie mom I was very concerned about her getting sick!) Her afternoon teacher told me at least 3 times that she was not comfortable with small babies (then why the hell were you put in the infant room?!) One day I picked her up and they said she hadn't eaten all day and she had been crying for 3 hours (no phone call to me???). Also, the manager of the Magna center was so nice the day I went to check out the place, but after that she was not at all pleasent. She acted bothered every time I asked her if I could pay and never greeted me as I came in to her business! It didn't take me long to realize that sending my daughter to a more expensive daycare was worth my feeling comfortable while I was at work. Perhaps they are better with the older children, but I would not recommend anyone send their infant there. ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT! I did, and I am MUCH happier with where my daughter goes to daycare now.
