Great Church! We live thirty minutes south of this Church. My adult children have song there for service. And have participated in plays put on by the Sunrise Players. Additionally, they support local More Than A Meal homeless ministry and many other ministries.
There's a mix of baby boomers and millennials. There was a visiting youth choir there the day I went, so I couldn't tell how many kids were present. There was a guest preacher who gave an interesting talk on The Flood. She is a lay member of the church. The music is not the older traditional style, but not rock and roll! They serve goodies between Bible class and church.
I’ve just been twice so far, but enjoyed both visits. Friendly people, great music, scripture based sermons, and flexibility with worship times, so you can choose the one that suits you. It’s a younger crowd and modern music at 9:00, but 10:30 service is more traditional. UPDATE: it’s Ben almost a year now since I joined Sunrise United Methodist Church. The staff members and regular members are so very welcoming! They have many activities outside of “church time” to build contacts with other members-small groups, pot luck dinners, etc. The amazing pastor and staff work hard to build relationships and activities involving the community! They have a wonderful children’s program, and several groups they assist with missions. Give it a try if you’re looking for a friendly, inclusive congregation for a church home! You’ll be glad you did! 😊
Have visited this church facility numerous times for "outside" events. It warms my heart when a church opens its doors to other ministries in the community>>vocal groups, choirs, groups, etc. for non-church related events, concerts, etc. Other than that, I don't know much about Sunrise UMC, but I feel they are making an impact for good in their community and beyond. My late hubby and I were in full & part-time church music ministries most of our lives. We've seen it all and I believe Sunrise is a great model to follow! If I wasn't as involved in and faithfuly committed to my current home church, I'd seriously look at attending and becoming involved at Sunrise. Their leadership knows what they are doing!!! MEGA KUDOS!!!
This church is absolutely amazing! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey. The staff is so helpful and shows great care for the congregants and community at large. Sunrise has a wonderful number of activities for children, students, and adults. Walk through their doors one time, and you will never leave. Best Church in the Springs!
