Our daughter attended Sunflower Montessori for more than 2.5 years. We are so glad that she was able to attend this wonderful school and that we made the investment for her to attend. The staff is wonderful, caring, and are committed to the children's development. Miss Chia is a great leader. Our daughter has had wonderful teachers, first Miss Sarah in the younger kids classroom, and Miss Meiling in the older kids classroom. All of the teaching assistants, including Miss Martha, have also been great to work with. Some highlights: Potty Training: Our daughter started attending the school right after she turned 2. She was not fully potty trained. The teachers helped potty train her and let us know when she was ready to transition from diapers to underwear. I've heard horror stories about potty training from other parents, but I can honestly say that with the support of Miss Sarah and the other staff, our daughter potty trained easily. Academics: I liked that parents had annual Parent Teacher Conferences, where we were able to meet with the parents. The teachers took the time to assess each child on their social emotional and academic level, and showed where progress was being met and areas of growth. Our daughter left the school at 4 being able to write her first name (even now, in her TK class of 20, she is one of 4 kids who know how to write her name, and she writes it clearly), can identify and count up to 100, knows all of her letters, days of the week, months of the year, shapes, the different continents. I felt like there was a good balance of learning through traditional methods (once she was in the older kid class, she started completing basic worksheets, like tracing letters and numbers) and learning through play. Confidence: This school has truly instilled and supported our daughter's confidence. One of my favorite moments was when my daughter and I were playing a game, and I had made a mistake. She told me, "It's okay! Mistakes happen!" When I mentioned this to her teacher, Miss Meiling, she told me that the class were practicing a song on affirmations! Diversity: I love how truly diverse this school is with respect to ethnicity and socioeconomic status. Their differences are celebrated, and students have an opportunity to learn about each others cultures through the celebration of different holidays. Overall, I would definitely recommend Sunflowers Montessori, and we are looking forward to our younger son starting, soon.
Our daughter attended Sunflowers for 2.5 years and recently left for TK for the 2025-2026 school year. We miss Sunflowers dearly. All staff members there have been amazing. My daughter still mentions she misses Ms Meiling all the time. The school is very organized and provides a good structure for little ones. The snacks/hot lunches offerings are nice. Since starting with Sunshine my daughter has: broaden her vocabulary, learned manners, knows how to write her name and simple words, broaden the food she's willing to eat, has better social skills, etc. If we had the money we probably would have preferred to keep her here instead of going to TK.
Great school....our daughter was there between the age 2 to 5 and she had a great time. this school is a perfect blend of education and fun. All the teachers are really helpful and accomodating. we would definately recomend this school. :) Thanks Ms. Chia and other teachers for all you do. :)
My son started Sunflowers Montessori Preschool since age of 2 and graduated after 3 years for Kindergarten. At first I researched a lot before choosing this daycare. However, after 3 years being here I do not regret at all and highly recommend it. Teachers are very supportive and take care about children. Schedule is great for working parents, price is one of the lowest, as well as lots of education and thanks to this preschool my son is more than ready for Kindergarten. He is able to write his own name, count, and know a lot of useful things as in daycare they learn everything: how to cross the street, colors, numbers, continents, etc. I would definitely miss Sunflowers Montessori Preschool.
We enrolled our daughter for more than 2 years now. Ms. Jasbir is an exceptional teacher. She and other teachers provide outstanding care and love to all the little kids and help them grow. We are thankful to find this preschool and will recommend to our friends and family.
