If I could do 0 stars I would. This is not a place for a child that is learning and progressing in life. The owner of the day care does NOT communicate anything that is going on with your child at all! She will literally take 3 whole weeks out the year for “ conference” she tells you all these lies about how she will keep you updated on your child progress when she doesn’t at all. My child has been going there for two years and he has yet to receive any type of homework, she claims she wants to treat this day care like a regular school but I don’t see the results. She is very rude and disrespectful. She talks to you like you don’t know what you are talking about and doesn’t respond respectfully. She told me that my child will not be with his age group because he is not fully potty trained. Instead of being in his group he is with the 2year old and younger crew not learning anything!!! I trusted this lady with my kid and I regret everything about this school! Highly not recommended!
This daycare class is out of ratio almost everyday. With only one teacher and the owner who is in out. The one staff member wasn't friendly at all and never greeted you. She sat in the chair upon drop off and pick up. Sometimes on drop off in the mornings she was on her phone or in the kitchen with the children left unattended. I guess she was the only teacher and the only cook. They have mixed age of children all in one class. They have two class room but only use one class for all ages. They had a temporary teacher that came in only because DSS inspections was that week. She was very nice and my child really liked her. I hope she would stay but...NOPE. We jokingly call Stepping Stones Academy a boot camp for children. The children NEVER goes outside. I asked this on the tour and again a couple of times because I noticed that they didn't. She lied! The owner said they do if the weather permits. That was a LIE! They send out a calendar of closings like this isn't a daycare. They are close more then the school district and its a daycare. They send out random calendar updates changing the days close. i guess is because of staffing issue as well, but even when they were closed for what they called "teacher workdays" (at a Daycare) you had to pay for the week. There tuition is very expensive. Definitely not worth money you pay $295.00-300.00 per week. People look for daycare when school is out but you have to find daycare when your child's in daycare and its quite often. We never got a menu or a schedule of our child's day. I think in one year that our child attended one or two craft came home. I didn't ever see or knew what they were working on. The positive they seem clean, but we weren't allow completely in the room because I covid. The daycare was convenience location for myself.
The director is terrible. She doesn’t take the children outside. She only has one teacher who is on her phone the whole time. She kicked my niece and nephew out because she failed to report an incident with my niece and my sister questioned her about it. She would not give my sister copies the contracts their father signed for the school in order to read over. She treats adults like children and doesn’t take care of children well. They don’t potty train and also don’t provide anything needed by the children like diapers. Would not recommend to anyone. The director is not helpful and doesn’t care much about the children themselves .
Great choice for daycare. The staff is loving, friendly, and welcoming. My son has benefited tremendously . The teachers are hands on and attentive. The curriculum is on point. His speech has improved and he learns a lot. I would recommend Stepping Stones to anyone!
Attentive staff and a great learning environment for the young ones. The manager is an operator owner and is fully involved with the staff and children and knows all of them by name. You will pay weekly for the spot that your child is taking and not just on the weeks that they are in daycare. This is unfortunate when it comes to things like Christmas when they are closed for a week but you still have to pay for childcare. Overall it's a nice place and management is willing to work with parents.
