Stepping Stone Academy (Base Of Tn Co)

I will start by saying, that not all is bad.. but a lot has changed since the previous director left. The way the "new director," or whatever she's supposed to be doesn't seem to know how to speak to people. Comes off very arrogant and rude. The newer teachers seemed to be inexperienced with children. One of them was great with my son, but the teachers he had when he was in Step 2 were phenomenal.. I'm sure they don't even work there anymore. My youngest child had the greatest and most sweetest teachers. As said before, not all is bad.. But a lot have some odd changes. The facility should make things more welcoming, and some staff should understand that they are working with children. It takes patience, and understanding that kids are going to do kid things. Some of these teachers are failing to make connections with the children as well.. Let alone actually watch the children.

My children have attended Stepping Stone Academy for about 5 years. I have never had any issues or troubles with any teachers. Every morning I was met with a smile and a good morning from numerous teachers I would pass in the hallway. The kids always had a smile and seemed happy. If this were a place I didn’t feel safe bringing my children for 8+ hours a day, I definitely would not. I will recommend this place 100 times over the others. My next child will be here from 6 weeks till they are 5. This place just feels right! Friendly and very welcoming.

Hate seeing people lying on reviews. I have zero doubts in my mind that no one who works at SSA would ever put their hands on a child. We have loved this daycare since the moment we started! I would highly recommend to anyone to send their kids there. Great, friendly staff! Breakfast, lunch and snack are all provided! They even go above and beyond to make sure my child who can’t have certain things is still taken care of and can eat! Thank you SSA for being AWESOME!

My 5 year old daughter has attended Stepping Stones Academy since the age of 1. I am truly satisfied with my experience and feel safe and glad to leave my daughter here everyday while I work. I researched child care providers in the area when I was pregnant and this is the place my heart was set on. I have not been disappointed or regretted this decision. Stepping Stones provides my top concerns of safety, nutrition, and curriculum. My daughter continues to be her usual happy self when she walks in the door and leaves. Stepping Stones is an intimate environment where everyone knows your child and treats them as an individual. As a parent, safety is my #1 concern. There is a code to enter the school. the playground is gated. There are security cameras in every classroom where parents can watch their children at any time. My 2nd concern is nutrition. This place is offering above average meals for childcare providers of this age group. There are fresh fruit and vegetables offered daily. Children are more than welcome to have seconds. Uniquely, the staff does not serve instant meals, frozen dinners, and junk food. My daughter calls the cook, chef. She knows my daughter's favorite snacks and meals. On occasion, she has sent these favorites home. This is definitely home cooked meals the children are eating. Also, the staff is kind when you mention a dietary restriction. Stepping Stones is very clean and provides age appropriate curriculum. I am sad to leave this place once my daughter moves up to Kindergarten.

We absolutely loved this child care. I would be here all day if I had to list everything but some key points, they were willing to accept my child and her cloth diapers when others would not. They also have a garden that the children get to help with and eat from. The employees simply do not get paid enough for how awesome they are. Patient, fun and also good communication skills with parents. I would 100/10 recommend this place.
