What Parents Say
Step by Step Montessori School of Chaska receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, with parents praising the staff's warmth, genuine care, and strong academic instruction. One parent reported dissatisfaction with the school's prioritization of full-time enrollment over honoring existing part-time arrangements and cited poor communication from leadership.
Amazing staff. Our experience has been so great at SBS. Our daughter has flourished here. She has lots of friends and has learned so much. She will be on point for kindergarten next yr.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the teachers and environment are here! My girls (4 and 2 years old) had to begin full time care in July when they've been used to having 1-day preschool, an in-home nanny, or a parent home during the week. The amazing teachers made this huge transition as painless as possible (for the girls AND me!). We have always been greeted warmly and it is evident that they genuinely care about my kids. I love that they focus on teaching children to be kind and polite; it definitely is seen throughout the school and now more at our home. Now my girls LOVE going to school and I've seen them grow in confidence, sociability, and academically. The positive influence they continue to have with my girls has been the BEST thing for our family.
I have two children in the Montessori program at Step by Step-Chaska. The staff is terrific and instill a true love of learning in their students. Miss Mary is very kind, well organized and an excellent leader and teacher. The children at this school are polite, well mannered and play/work well with each other. I would encourage any parent considering a Montessori education to look closely at Step by Step in Chaska. You will find a warm, welcoming and strong academic program.
I like the staff, the cleanliness of the place, the affection and care towards my daughter.
Just be aware if you only send your child part time you and your child are not considered a value to this school. We sent our 2 year old for a year and he did half days 3 times a week as my wife does not work we did feel the need to send him full time. After the first year finished and pre school approached we planned on the same schedule the next year for pre school, this is when they refused to sign him up. They told us they wanted to wait to see u they could get full time students first and if they could not then they would be kind enough to enroll my son part time and take our money even though they offer a half day program they would not honor it. I understand economics, but this is our child and he had already attended the school for a year and was comfortable. I wish they would of told us this a year ago so we could have chosen a different school and now are faced with introducing our 3 year old to a new school that we hope he will be comfortable being dropped off at. So if you are starting your child young and do not plan on putting them full time at pre school time be aware they might turn you away as well. Also trying to talk to the director jean was a waste of time as I guess she feels that since we only pay half day tuition we do not deserve a call back after attending for a year.
