This review is long overdue. Our daughter was two years old when she began attending Stepaway preschool. She has developmental delays and was completely nonverbal at the time, able to communicate only through sign language (and many of her signs were ineligible only to us, her parents). This made it challenging for her at first, in terms of interacting with her peers and teachers. But the warm and wonderful staff at Stepaway welcomed her with open arms, and she loved it immediatately. She made friends and learned how to play, how to clean up, and how to be a kind and honorable person. We were very sad to take her out after only six months. We did so only because she had turned 3 and became eligible to attend public preschool in our town, with structured speech, physical and occupational therapy to help her navigate her motor delays. That was almost a year ago. I think of it now as I watch her play with strangers at Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk. I reflect on how far our wonderful child has come and reminisce about where it all began. We fondly remember and still miss her teachers, Hannah, and all the little friends she met at Stepaway preschool!
Step Away has been incredible for our daughters. The teachers are kind, patient, and truly care. She comes home happy and has grown so much socially and academically. We’re so thankful and highly recommend Step Away.
We've had a wonderful experience at Stepaway Preschool. Our daughter truly flourished under the care and guidance of their wonderful teachers. Seeing her grow and learn - not to mention build friendships, confidence and her own voice! - has been such a joy. Stepaway Preschool has been the best blessing to my youngest daughter. It is a caring and nurturing environment and she comes home every day with a huge smile on her face. The director and teachers are wonderful, professional and deeply care about each and every child. My daughter learned so much, both academically and socially. We just finished up our first year and cannot wait for the fall! If you are considering Stepaway for your child, do not hesitate. You are making the best choice for your little one! :)
Absolutely love this school 🎒 my child is always happy and willing to go. The teachers are so loving and caring towards our kids. Walking in school is like walking into a beautiful family. All are welcomed and loved.
