Star Of The Sea Preschool

I would give Star of the Sea Preschool 10 stars if it were possible. We are having a wonderful experience there with our little one who comes home happy every day, excited to share everything she has learned. The program includes Montessori, learning letters and numbers, playing, reading stories, learning Spanish, and some religion. The teachers are first rate, incredibly warm, kind, and professional. The facility is excellent with a large, airy classroom with lots of windows and a big play yard with a play structure and a sandbox. We've enjoyed getting to know families in the preschool and at Stella Maris. I highly recommend this preschool.

I absolutely loved our experience at Star of the Sea Preschool! Both of my boys attended for the past few years, and it has been such a wonderful journey. The team of teachers is truly special, they complement one another beautifully, each bringing their own expertise and knowledge, which creates such a well-rounded learning environment. I really appreciate how the program includes so much: Spanish immersion, Montessori elements, and religion, all while keeping the atmosphere warm, kind, and welcoming for every little one. My kids were always so happy at drop-off and pick-up time, which to me says it all. The classroom is filled with natural light, thoughtfully arranged, and stocked with excellent materials. Beyond that, the school fosters a genuine sense of community that we felt lucky to be part of. I’m so grateful for the love and care my children received here, it’s truly a wonderful place!

Star of the Sea Preschool is truly special and we feel so blessed to have found it. Our son attended in 2022 and is now in 1st grade at Stella Maris Academy on the same campus, and now our daughter is there. There are so many things we love about this preschool, but what stands out most are the exceptional teachers. They are incredibly nurturing, warm, and genuinely devoted to each child’s growth — not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually. The curriculum is so rich and diverse and strikes the perfect balance of structure, learning, and play: Catholic catechism, arts and crafts, Spanish language from native speaking teachers, Montessori lessons from Montessori-certified teachers, music from classically trained music teacher, field trips to the public library, special visits from older students for reading time, interactive lessons on life skills to become more independent and confident, and much more. The preschool environment itself is extremely clean, calm, and thoughtfully organized — a peaceful little haven within the larger TK–8 school. We love that the children benefit from being part of the wider school community, yet still enjoy their own cozy, dedicated space designed just for them. The teachers are highly accessible and communicative so you always know what they are learning as a class and how your child is doing. We couldn’t imagine a more joyful and faith-filled start to our child’s education!

Our oldest had such an incredible year here. The teachers are truly called by God to teach young children—they remind me of Miss Honey from Matilda, which in my book is the highest compliment! They are patient, kind, and nurturing, which is exactly what toddlers need. The teachers prepared our son beautifully for his transition to transitional kindergarten, and we couldn’t be happier with his experience. We can’t wait to send our younger two boys to Star of the Sea Preschool!

Choosing Star of the Sea Preschool has been one of the best decisions we’ve made as parents. My son isn’t the type who adjusts quickly to new places, but something about Star of the Sea made him feel safe right away, it felt like he belonged. From day one, he walked in with confidence and has never once cried at drop-off. That alone tells you how special this school is. I can’t say enough about the amazing teachers — Mrs. Janelli, Ms. Novoa, and Ms. Brooks. They aren’t just teachers; they are gentle guides who truly see, hear, and care for each child. My son loves them deeply, and we do too. He’s growing not just academically, but as a person; learning kindness, patience, social skills, independence, and responsibility. He taught me songs he learnt from the school too. There was one moment I’ll never forget. I saw him fall at the playground, and before a teacher even noticed, the older children ran to him, asking, “Are you okay?” and trying to help him up. It was such a pure moment of kindness. It showed me this school doesn’t just teach, it models love and compassion every day. Star of the Sea preschool is more than a school. It’s a community built on love, values, and heart. We feel truly blessed to be part of it. And honestly, I don’t know how we’re supposed to move on to kindergarten after this, we’re already emotionally attached! 😂
