Our family truly loved this daycare when it was under the previous ownership. The staff had been there for years, and it felt like a warm, nurturing environment where my daughter thrived. It was, without a doubt, one of the best in St. Pete. Since the change in ownership, however, we’ve noticed a significant shift. There has been a lot of staff turnover, and it seems like the teachers are overwhelmed and stretched thin. While I know how hard this job is and how much the remaining staff cares, the consistency just hasn’t been the same. Unfortunately, there were a few concerning experiences — including my daughter coming home with a black eye and a cut with no clear explanation. That lack of communication really shook our trust. We also noticed some growing behavioral issues among the children, and it felt like the environment was becoming more reactive than nurturing. It’s disappointing to see such a special place change so drastically, but I truly hope with time and support, it can return to the standard it once held. We’re grateful for the memories we had there and wish the staff all the best moving forward. *UPDATE* I stand by every word of my review. It’s deeply disappointing that instead of taking accountability for serious safety concerns, this response chooses to deflect, mislead, and attack my character. To clarify: I personally witnessed my child being harassed in class while staff failed to intervene, and she came home with a visible bruise and cut under her eye — with no report or explanation from the school. When I raised my concerns, I was met with excuses and silence about my child’s teacher having resigned days earlier. I did not make these claims lightly — I filed a formal complaint with the Early Learning Coalition, and I was just informed that ELC has referred the matter to both DCF and licensing for further investigation. That is a fact. I transferred my child to another school because her safety and emotional well-being were no longer protected here. That school, which now employs multiple former staff members from St. Pete Prep, has provided the consistency and communication that were missing from our experience at this facility. Parents deserve the truth — not polished responses that sidestep accountability. I encourage anyone considering this school to ask hard questions and listen to other families who’ve had similar experiences. 07/17/2025: Any 5 star reviews you see from recent are from parents being incentivize as a desperate attempt to relinquish their ratings. No way any of these people care about the stability or safety of their children if they’re rating this place a five star…

I have had my almost 4 year old at St. Pete Prep since she was 2, and she has absolutely thrived under their teachers and leadership. As a parent, I couldn’t ask for a more supportive staff. Our home was impacted by Hurricane Helene, and the director and assistant director drove to our house during the clean up to bring us food to eat while we worked. They expedited reopening post storm to help families return to some normalcy and to offer a safe place for their children so the parents could clean up at home. After they reopened, they sent us home with dinner every night for two weeks while we were in a hotel. They put together donated clothes for my daughter to take home each day and coordinated an additional clothing and toy drive to help other families in the community. They are accessible and accommodating in every way, and I couldn’t ask for a better childcare program. It makes me emotional to think about how much they have helped and stood beside our family. Thank you, St. Pete Prep for all that you do and for the love you show my daughter and all of the children in your care.

All three of our children attend this daycare, and we are very happy with the care they receive. The teachers are kind, hardworking, and truly dedicated to each child. Our kids do many drawings, crafts, and creative activities every day, and they always come home proud and excited. We see how much effort the staff puts into helping the children grow, learn, and feel loved. We are very thankful and highly recommend this daycare to other families. Sincere Anghelina N.

My daughter has attended St. Pete Prep the last two years and loves it. It was extremely difficult leaving her in home daycare in 2023, but the transition was smooth thanks to the school. I’ve seen her gain confidence, as well as the foundation of social skills that will help her as she navigates through this crazy life. I have also helped out at the school this summer and experienced firsthand how hard Ms. Megan, Ms. Kori, and all the teachers work on a daily basis. Early childhood care is not for the faint of heart and this is coming from a middle school teacher. That being said, my daughter is continuing to thrive here and is ready for Kindergarten next month thanks to everyone at St. Pete Prep.

LOVE ST PETE PREP! As a first time mom, I was so distraught to drop my son off the first few weeks when he started in the 1s classroom. The teachers completely understood and never made me feel bad for wanting to come inside the room to see him off. It took my son about a month to adjust, but now he runs inside without even looking back. Ms Erin and Ms Toni are absolute gems! They have taken such great care of their 1s classroom. My son has moved up to the 18-24 mo class and is thriving! We also love Ms Madison! The teachers make this place so special. They have become like family here. I'm so blessed to have found a spot where I know my son is well cared for, loved on, and safe! Would recommend them to anyone and everyone!
