My daughter was enrolled in VPK at this school and she LOVED it. The new owners took over this week and closed the school on Tuesday with no notice to staff or families a couple days before Thanksgiving. People found out upon arriving to drop off their children. Everything she said to attempt to justify this decision was completely dishonest. Learning Adventures was an amazing school with wonderful teachers. Those children were loved, extremely well taken care of, and happy. Her portrayal of the condition of the school was incredibly inaccurate. I would never send my child to an unsafe or unsanitary environment. We personally obtained a copy of the most recent inspection report from 11/6/2025 and they were in compliance for safety and cleanliness. My daughter is devastated that she will not be able to return and finish out her first year of school with the teachers and friends that she adores. I would not recommend sending your child to this school when it reopens under this new owner.
This morning, when we arrived at the preschool, we were informed by the new owners that the school was being closed effective immediately. There was no advance notice and no explanation provided, and we also learned that all of the teachers had been let go. As a parent, this is extremely alarming—especially happening so suddenly and right before the holidays. The lack of communication and transparency is concerning for our children’s safety, their routine, and the well-being of the staff who have cared for them. Families are now left scrambling to find childcare with no warning. We deserve clarification on what led to this abrupt decision, and a more responsible transition should have been provided.
Parents should be aware of how the new ownership at Learning Adventures Preschool handled their transition. Despite a letter promising stability, the school was shut down overnight with no notice. All staff were fired on the second day, and families arrived to locked doors right before Thanksgiving. Communication from the new owners has been nonexistent, leaving many parents scrambling for emergency childcare. Don’t just take my word for it — Google the school and you’ll find extensive TV news coverage and multiple articles about what happened this week. This was a loving, safe environment for years. My four-year-old now has to start a new school mid-year, and her classmates are being split up into different programs. She cried for her teachers and is devastated. No child’s first school experience should end like this. Today I saw a parent pleading with the new owners just to retrieve her child’s medication. My daughter’s teacher — who also has a child enrolled there — was physically pushed out of the facility, and parents ultimately had to call the police to retrieve our children’s artwork and personal belongings. We are grateful the news was on scene to cover the situation. This entire situation raises serious concerns about how the preschool is being managed moving forward. I truly don’t understand how anyone could put young children and families through this. UPDATE: I have received a copy of the most recent inspection and the new owner completely lied on TV. There were zero health or safety concerns per the state report that is publicly available. The only thing was nap time Beds were a little bit too close and it was corrected during inspection. I pray any parents considering this school will do their homework and consider who they are trusting their children with because the new owners blatantly lied and the parents who trusted their children at this school know how things were before she bought it.
Our two kids loved this school until the new owner Denice Aviles came in and closed it. She had owned it for not more than one day before she had shut it down and fired all the staff with no notice. She left kids, parents and teachers stranded on the street with no explanation as to why. The morning she closed she screamed and cursed at some of the teachers which was uncalled for and a few days later reopened the doors allowing the parents to come in and grab their childrens belongings with a police escort. She claims that she closed due to the state of the building and how dirty it was. This explanation could've been a friendly notification to families and teachers, not the abrupt hostile event that she turned it into. If this school re opens, I would recommend parents to do their research and ask for referrals from previous families that went here about their experience with Denice before enrolling. I would hate for other families to have to go through what us and many other families and teachers have gone through.
We couldn’t be happier with Learning Adventures! From day one, the entire staff has been nothing but kind and welcoming, and our son absolutely loves it here. All of his teachers, including Ms. Cheryl, Olivia, (the list goes on and on) are amazing. They treat him like their own and always make him feel safe and loved. He gets so excited when we pull up to school every day! What really sets this daycare apart is the communication. They send us photos and videos every single day on Class Dojo, which makes us feel connected even while we’re at work. They also call right away with any concerns, and they’ve even gone out of their way to check in when our son was home sick or had to leave early. That kind of thoughtfulness and care means so much to us as parents. On top of that, he’s learning so much! He comes home every day with new words, gestures, and little things he’s picked up from his teachers and friends. It’s amazing to watch his growth and know he’s in such a supportive learning environment. The classrooms are clean and engaging, and we can see how much effort goes into creating a fun, nurturing space. Our son has truly blossomed since starting here, and we feel so lucky to have found such a loving place for him. If you’re looking for a daycare where your child will be cared for like family and encouraged to grow every day, Learning Adventures is the one.
