What Parents Say
St. Michaels School and Nursery has mixed reviews with significant concerns about special needs care. While one parent praised their handling of dietary restrictions, multiple parents reported inadequate support for children with autism and developmental delays, staff inconsistency, safety issues, and poor communication.
My son attended St Michael’s for about 3 years. Over the time, he was diagnosed with Autism and developmental delays. He's been having therapist coming to see him for over 2 years now. If you don’t know, kids with autism may have difficulties with transitioning, which was the case with my son and him getting new teachers. He was doing well for a while then back to square one, not being able to communicate like he should played a big part as well. I heard more about the negative than positive. I had to come to them out of concern about his progress, after that it was a whole list of concerns. I asked why it wasn’t brought to my attention, the directors response was “well you know teachers don’t like writing those kind of things in the procare app”. I was confused because that’s what it’s for. As a mother, i immediately felt confused and a lack of care for my child. Not even a month later, they gave me a note stating he’s being dis-enrolled in the program and he has two weeks left to attend. While I’m in the process of getting him into a facility that fits his needs. Then being told if i need help or support let them know. Why wasn’t the help offered before hand?! Long story short, if you have a child with special needs…THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THEM. They just wanted the money.
I heard really great things about st micheals, however me and my daughters experience was not even half of that. My daughter has some delays and prior to enrolling her I was assured that st micheals had the ability to deal with kids as such, that also was not the case. Since being there I have seen two teachers leave the job and different people following after. I got her therapy devices and communicated clearly about my child and things seemed to be going smooth at first, There is now a new teacher in the class and my child has been sent home and reported almost each day since new teacher arrived. I picked my child up and her ear was bloody, when reached out to me to pick her up only thing was mentioned was an incident happened, as I got there nothing was explained just finger pointing. I knew then for sure st micheals is not equipped to deal with my child. We were supposed to have a meeting that never happened as well. Between the staff lies, the teachers turning on one another, the notations on Procare that are not always accurate and our experience here, I wouldn’t recommend st micheals, and I HIGHLY don’t recommend this place if your child is experiencing any type of delays or disorders.
I heard some great things about St.Micheal’s, until I enrolled my set of twins. During the first 30 days the boys came home and they both had on 2 pull-ups. Which is considered “double diapering” and neglect. I bought this to managements attention and ever since then we haven’t felt very welcomed. The upper management team challenged me with on going retaliatory interactions that ensued for the duration of our time at this facility. Great daycare but if you don’t agree with your child’s care or question them they want you out and make up reasons to support their motives. The employees were exceptional caregivers but due to child to CG ratio things seemed overwhelming.
My son has an amino acid disease and they go above and beyond with his diet care, something that at his previous daycare could not be done. I feel like my son is safe and is always happy to go to school in the mornings.
I saw a baby on the floor, he didn’t have a blanket under him , just bare face down on the floor, that’s a heath violation for that baby
