We loved our experience at St. Michael Preschool & Infant Care. Our son started around 15 months old and thrived there. We’ve seen a lot of schools over the years with our older child, and this one stands out. The teachers really understand early childhood development, and you can feel how intentional everything is, from the classroom setup to the daily activities and programs. Nothing feels random or one size fits all. We’d play videos from his school day at home and he would clap, stomp, and smile watching the songs and activities. He also picked up sign language quickly. We also loved the early, positive exposure to using the potty and know this will be helpful when it comes time for potty training. Communication with the staff is easy and open. They always made time to talk and were glad to discuss his progress or any questions we had. We never felt rushed or brushed off. The food program is amazing. Organic ingredients, lots of variety, and creative options like spinach waffles along with different lunches and snacks. You can tell a lot of thought goes into it. They were flexible with schedules and routines, so he was supported based on the needs he had at that specific time not what the whole group was going through. We’re sad to be leaving, and the only reason is that we’re moving out of the area.
St. Michael is an incredibly special place for children and parents. My son loves every moment there and has grown and learned immensely since he started at nine months of age. He is taken care of so warmly and so lovingly that it is a joy to drop him off in the morning and watch him happily and confidently walk into the building to start his day. I am deeply impressed with Mary's (the director) philosophy -- she is truly connected to the children and teachers and also sets great standards by relying on best practices she learns from recent research and findings. This means she relies on her day-to-day experience while also listening to experts and professionals about what children need to grow and thrive. The teachers are exceptional: loving, kind, smart, and incredible educators and caretakers. It's absolutely great. I don't know of any other place like St. Michael and I feel deeply, deeply grateful we are a part of this community. Not to mention that Mary and the teachers are extremely responsive, helpful, and flexible in their approach to caring for each child. I honestly don't know how they do it, but they do.
St. Michael has been an incredible place for our daughter to grow and learn. We can't imagine not having the peace of mind of leaving her with her incredible teachers (Grimilda, Yenifer, Mirsa, and Stella) and with the fabulous director (Mary). Our daughter smiles whenever she realizes we're at school and oftentimes doesn't want to leave at the end of the day. In addition to the warm and loving atmosphere they create for the children, they're also so great at making sure they're up to date with the most recent best practices when it comes to academic learning, social emotional wellness, and socialization. We could not recommend St. Michael enough.
When my 3 year old daughter sees her teachers she runs up and gives them hugs and kisses. That's the kind of place you feel good about leaving your munchkins. I also have an eight month old son who lights up and smiles when I drop him off in the morning. Mary, the director, and the whole team are great, loving, and professional. We get regular update pictures and videos throughout the day of all the fun activities they are getting into. At the end of the day I pick up the kids to go home and my daughter doesn't want to go. We hang out for fifteen minutes so she can play with the other kids outside before walking home. They get wonderful home made food during the day with plenty of fruits and veggies. I love seeing pictures of the kids in their cooking mode, especially my eight month old in a chef's hat which is pretty cute. They do a great job teaching the kids how to handle their big emotions and I've seen my 3 year old grow over the year she's been there. She's doing a much better job expressing herself instead of using her hands. We've made many friends from the daycare as well at community events and hanging out with parents at pick up and drop off. Love the community and glad to be a part of it. Feel free to reach out here or get my contact info from Mary if you want to ask about anything. I swear I'm not a paid spokesman.
This is an immensely well-thought-out program. You can truly see the love, care, and dedication that every teacher gives to the children. The environment is nurturing, organized, and filled with joy. The community is beautiful, and we genuinely feel like a family here. St. Michael has created a place where both children and parents feel seen, supported, and loved — it’s so much more than just a school. 💛
