St. Pius Preschool

We've had both our boys go through 3 years each of St. Pius Preschool and can't say enough about how amazing our time there has been. Ms. Leigh and the entire staff are the ultimate professionals and have helped our boys develop and grow into kinder ready individuals. They have an amazingly transparent way of working with great communication. Their music program is one of the you could ask for at a preschool level. The kids have access to tons of gross and fine motor skill development tools and an art / activity space that is perfect. They hold additional programs at Christmas and end of the year where the class participates in singing and dancing that'll melt any grandparents hearts. Also, the overall community at the preschool is great. Parent participation is really high and a fun place to raise your kids. We're sad to be graduating onto primary school but happy our boys got the time they did with a great group of teachers.

We are on our fourth year of preschool between our two children and absolutely love the program. The teachers are incredible and our older daughter was very well-prepared for kindergarten. She was beginning to read by her last semester of preschool. It is a Montessori based program which was a perfect fit for both of our children. There is plenty of play time, but the children have “jobs” that are more academic and creative and can choose among them. The academics are strong enough that I view the second (or in some cases third) year of preschool as a substitute for TK. The teachers have incredible longevity with the preschool and are well-trained and very experienced. Our son had a rough transition from a nanny to preschool but they supported him every step of the way. The uniforms also make our mornings easier. The classrooms are well-maintained and the children have a beautiful garden, outdoor play space with sandbox and play structure, and plenty of toys. We couldn’t be happier with our experience!

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about St Pius Preschool!!!!! Our family spent a total of 5 years at the school (2 for my older son & 3 for my younger) and we loved every minute of it. I literally cried when my youngest "graduated" and advanced to kindergarten because we loved the program so much. ♥️ When I originally began looking for preschools in 2018 for our oldest, I was very overwhelmed at the number of preschools in Redwood City! I toured MANY preschools in Redwood City and I was alarmed at how many of them felt cramped, dirty, disorganized, or was just turned off at how many kids were crying 😬 But then I toured St. Pius Preschool. I was so impressed with how peaceful & loving it felt; with the coordination and curriculum; and most importantly how happy all the children seemed to be! I wasn't familiar with Montessori-inspired preschools, but I was very impressed with all the hands-on learning that was incorporated through different activities, games, projects, puzzles, and toys. Plus, they have an amazing facility that offers indoor and outdoor space, as well as a playground and a garden perfect for the little ones. The preschool literally feels like family to us. Each & every one of the teachers is so kind and loving, bringing their own uniqueness to the program. One teacher is an extremely skilled guitarist & beautiful singer and loves to teach the kids about music. One is fluent in Spanish and teaches the kids Spanish. And the list goes on. I've never met a more competent group! Yet at the same time, they love & care for each child like they are their own. Thank you, St. Pius Preschool! We will forever be grateful for the years we spent with you and we will continue to come say hi as we walk into the elementary school in the mornings.
