My girlfriend and I had our first experience with the Byzantine Rite here this Sunday and we had a wonderful time. It felt so reverent and we will be returning. The Church felt like home in a way we couldn't describe. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone seeking something more traditional or if you are interested in an eastern Liturgy but it's really something everyone should experience.
I was amazed at the genuine quality and heartwarming mass. Parishioner participation was very beautiful and you felt a true sense of God's presence.
Really miss St. Gabriel. We had to move out of state because of my husband job. Never been able to find a place of worship that bring community, helps you find a purpose in our faith and other parishioners that you can form forever friendship with.
We are Roman Catholics looking for a moving service in honor of a deceased member of the Greek Orthodox church. We were not impressed with the priest or cantor who absolutely rushed through all the prayers and acclamations! It seemed very “on the surface”, with no true meaning of the prayers or rituals. Very disappointed!
I have found St. Gabriel's church and it's congregation to be very engaging. It has filled me with a presence & fulfillment of love and the Holy Spirit. The Mass is a true conduit to the Lord with singing all the prayers. The Mass 4:00 p.m. on Saturday & 10:00 a.m. on Sunday are presided over by pastor, Father Marcus Gomori & Msgr. Kevin McAuliffe. This is a Byzantine service and in truth your first time will be a real experience. I suggest that you do not attend with any preconceived views or opinions, but I do recommend that you come with an open mind and attend several services and then, let the Holy Spirit guide you in making an informed decision. I have the privilege to be an altar server and the honor to be in the presence of Fr. Marcus Gomori whom will change your life for the better given the opportunity.
