We attended a funeral mass at St. Cyprian's in December 2024, and the priest acted like a major jerk, several times. We couldn't participate fully as the congregation sang this or that, or responded with this or that, but no instruction was given re where to look in the hymnal or wherever so that we COULD participate. Someone in the front row wasn't singing enough for this priest, and he - very loudly - pointed to her and announced that she was to be singing now!!!! Who DOES that to a grieving family member? Shameful behavior. There were other rudenesses which the family told us about later, and it just made the whole day that much harder on the entire family. Lovely sanctuary, but my goodness.....a church IS the people, and this man was not a good representative for Christ that day.
Mass was wonderful and everyone was so welcoming.
I've been here to attend a funeral the funeral was beautifully done however noticing a sign that says Love thy neighbor get vaccinated is extremely discouraging to see on a church board vaccines have absolutely nothing to do with emotion and it is extremely disheartening to see a church pushing an experimental drug and in simple terms telling people if you're not vaccinated you don't care about those around you oh the hypocrisy how about get back to teaching the Bible and the Lord's word instead of trying to quietly shame those who are unvaccinated I've heard many many people talk about their disappointment with the sign. That alone would keep me away from the doors the good lord loves me whether I am vaccinated or not sadly this church doesn't practice what they preach
I cannot recommend this church. The liturgy does not honor Our Lord. The worship of God seems to have been replaced by the worship of self. The pastor undermines Catholic teaching implicitly and explicitly. If you are looking for a good parish, please keep prayerfully looking.
