Having our wedding at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church was an absolutely beautiful and memorable experience. From the moment we began planning, the entire team made us feel supported and cared for every step of the way. The church itself looked stunning, with its warm, inviting atmosphere creating the perfect setting for such a meaningful celebration. We are especially grateful to Father Dairo Rico, who was able to conduct a bilingual mass. His presence brought a deep sense of peace and reverence that we and our guests will never forget. A special thank you also goes to Angi and her team, who handled every detail of the preparations and proceedings with such care and professionalism. Everything ran smoothly and beautifully because of their dedication and attention to detail. The music provided by Colin Gore was the perfect finishing touch. His masterful playing added such depth and emotion to the Mass, elevating every moment of the ceremony.
What an absolutely beautiful and holy place to worship. You can feel His Presence when you walk through the front doors. The Mass was reverently executed and the priest gave a heart-touching and thought-provoking homily. Will definitely visit again when in Duluth.
If you are new to Catholicism this probably isn’t the church for you!! My family and I attended St. Benedict for the first time a couple of weeks ago. This was our second time ever attending a Catholic Church, so, needless to say, all of the Catholic rules, customs, traditions are new to us. I did know that we were not supposed to take Eucharist, so I told my daughters as we were walking forward that they were not allowed to eat the wafer. One of my daughters accepted the wafer from Father Avery Daniel but did not eat it. As she was walking away I saw him looking at her with an angry look on his face. He then said quite loudly in front of the entire church, “excuse me, give that back.” My husband and I were so shocked and stunned we had no idea what to say or do. I stopped my daughter and took the wafer from her, and the priest, Avery, said to me, “put it back” as he held out the bowl in front of me. My poor daughter was so embarrassed and had no idea what she had done wrong. I still have no idea what made him so angry. She went back to her seat and started to cry. I felt terrible for her and saddened to see a priest treat a child in that way. I would never recommend this church and certainly not if you are new to Catholicism as we are.
I love this Church. My family and I felt welcomed since the first day we went there. I love this Church
