as a former student that attended the 2023-2024 school year here, for the time, it wasnt the best, but far from the worst. if I had one piece of advice for a new student, it would be to not become the center of drama because you WILL be socially persecuted. some of the teachers could do better, but most of them are nice and do a good job at helping their students. apparently this place has gone downhill since my enrollment, what a shame.
MAP is a middle school to high school mental health program, the staff there are hypocritical as someone who currently goes there. The staff get mad at you for having panic attacks, anger issues, and not being able to manage your emotions, it's supposed to be a safe place for your student to reside after a tough time, but they actively threaten you with "Youre not gonna be ready for REAL school" they dont follow their rules. Their system is unfair and their motto is far from true its "not all who wander are lost" but they dont care what you do, the only staff I would say is nice is the principal and one high-school teacher, They'll likely only have talk with you and they force you to put your phones in pouches so they know where they are and you dont. Youre jit allowed to have your backpacks anyways. I thought it was a great program at first but its really ruining my social circle. Sometimes the staff even take your stuff and dont give it back. It's supposed to be a drama free school and yet they ignore when actual drama accuses and they like to believe that drama cannot be helped anyways. Map is an alright school but I feel like they lack teachers that make students feel safe, that's my personal opinion tho.
The staff don't care much about the kids. It's very restrictive with simple things like no outside time, clubs, music, and even gym and art. Its a mental health school but once you say you have thoughts to harm you're self you just get sent back to class with no help. It's overall made my mental health worse.please don't send your teen here and this is from personal experience.
This was genuinely the worst school I’ve ever seen. Staff yelling at students, ignoring harassment and abuse because (real quote from a teacher) “I didn’t see it”, the lest empathetic staff ever, and unrealistic expectations of perfection. Also, the favoritism was blatant and obvious. Overall, don’t send your child here. Ever.
Dude I have never been to a worse school. Staff treat you like poop, kids are mean and lastly harassment from other students is not taken seriously. I hated this place never send your child here
